Congratulations Shuai and Rong

This beautiful fall day brought us a venue with an amazing view.  The ceremony took place on a rooftop garden, with Shuai and Rong saying their vows under a gorgeous floral arch.  One neat aspect of the ceremony was that it began at exactly 11:16 am on the dot.  The wedding date and time were chosen because they are auspicious in the Chinese culture.    When Shuai arrived at the altar, guests applauded, and they did the same for Rong.

The reception took place in the ballroom at the top floor of the hotel, with floor to ceiling windows.  We had a beautiful view!  Upon arrival, the guests signed their names on small wooden hearts, which they then dropped into a picture frame that the couple can later hang in their home.  When Rong entered the reception, she had changed out of her Western, white wedding dress, and into a beautiful red satin ballgown.  (Red is a sign of good luck, success, loyalty, honor, and love in the Chinese culture.)  Rong also wore a red and gold headpiece, and she was beautiful!

The tables had floor-length white table cloths, white chair covers, and centerpieces of greenery and white hydrangea.  Each place setting had a favor box holding candies.   During dinner, Rong and Shuai went table to table, toasting with the guests.   They even came to our table, toasting with me and Ferdy.  It was so sweet of them to think of us!  Then, we moved on to the traditional toasts by the Best Man and Maid of Honor.  The cake cutting followed, with the newlyweds cutting in to their three-tiered, stacked cake.  It had grey and white frosting, blended to look almost like marble.  Pieces of edible gold leaf accented the tiers, as well as white flowers.

Instead of a traditional bouquet toss, Rong chose to giver her bouquet to a single friend.  It was so sweet, it left both of them in tears.  Then, Shuai surprised everyone by singing a song to Rong.  He was so good!  After that, the dance floor was open.  Guests danced until it was time to bring the reception to a close.  Rong and Shuai handed gifts to the guests as they left: bottles of wine in a bag decorated with a Chinese symbol.  A guest told me the symbol basically means good luck/happy marriage.  Once the newlyweds said farewell to their guests, they made their exit.  Congratulations Shuai and Rong!

Congratulations Drew and Kamryn

This ceremony and reception, with the colors of ivory, blue, burgundy and gold was so pretty!  The ceremony was held outside at a gazebo, with a tall cross draped in greenery as the backdrop.  Kamryn’s bridal party wore an assortment of dresses in pale blue, champagne or rose.  Drew’s groomsmen wore a variety of grey suits.  The wedding party didn’t wear the exact same attire, but they complemented each other and looked great!   For their guest’s comfort, there were baskets near the ceremony site holding customized water bottles, mosquito spray, and kids activity bags.

In the ballroom, the guest tables had white floor-length tablecloths with a blue napkin at each place setting.  The centerpieces consisted of glass vases with pillar candles inside.  They sat on gold chargers with greenery around them.  To give the reception a golden glow, we had amber uplights around the room.

This couple opted for something fun instead of a traditional wedding cake: they had donuts!  When it was time to ‘cut the cake’ they fed donuts to each other.  Too cute!  This crowd loved to dance, and it went on all night long.  Fast songs or slow, the dance floor was always packed.  The Bohemian Rhapsody sing along was hilarious!

When the night came to a close with the last dance, the newlyweds ran through bubbles and drove off to their new life as a married couple.   Congratulations Drew and Kamryn!

Congratulations Andrew and Mackinsey

This ceremony and reception were so beautiful!  The ceremony had rows of gold chiavari chairs and the aisle was lined with rose petals and lanterns with candles.  For the backdrop of the ceremony, we had our amber uplights shining up the walls.  An outside cocktail hour followed while the room was flipped.  The guests returned to find an elegant reception.  The tables had ivory floor-length table cloths, gold chargers and navy napkins.  The centerpieces were lanterns with candles, surrounded by votive candles.  It all perfectly matched with their colors of navy and gold.  We had our amber uplights around the room and it was gorgeous.

Mackinsey’s cake was just right for the wedding.  It had three, white stacked tiers, and each tier was accented with yellow sunflowers.  They matched the bouquets, which had a variety of fall colored flowers.  Andrew’s chocolate groom's cake had chocolate ganache dripping down the sides.  For another sweet treat, there was a candy buffet with custom bags for the candy.  When it came to dancing, this group was awesome!  They were on the dance floor from the first song to the last – they had a blast!

When the night came to a close, the newlyweds ran through a tunnel of sparklers, climbed into a horse-drawn carriage and headed off to their new life.  Congratulations Andrew and Mackinsey!
