Congratulations Jeremiah and Sam

This wedding brought us to a new venue where we’ve never worked before: The Still Waters Ranch.  It’s beautiful, with its elegant, farmhouse style.  The ceremony took place in the outdoor, covered chapel.  Sam was gorgeous in her white, halter-style, fitted, satin gown.  She carried a large bouquet of assorted ivory and orange flowers with lots of greenery.  Sam’s bridal party wore pretty, floor-length grey dresses.  Jeremiah and his groomsmen looked great in their grey tuxes and orange vests.

The reception followed the ceremony, in the venue’s ballroom.  The colors for this wedding were orange, grey and silver, so the décor matched perfectly.  The tables had floor-length ivory table cloths topped with silver chargers and orange napkins.  The high/low centerpieces alternated between tall vases filled with cream and orange flowers and smaller arrangements with the same flowers.  They were all accented with cattails.

The five-tiered, stacked wedding cake matched the wedding colors just right.  The bottom tier was dark grey and as the tiers went up, the grey faded into white.  Pretty orange flowers and silver foil accented the tiers, leading up to a cake topper of the couple’s last name.  The fun groom’s cake looked like a lake with ducks floating on it while the cake inside alternated between cake and cookie cake.

One fun touch at this wedding was the favors: flavored honey straws.  We had never seen those before and the guests enjoyed trying the different flavors.  This couple had a fake exit later in the evening, and guests waved glowsticks as Jeremiah and Sam ran through them.  They then returned to the ballroom to join their guests for more dancing and fun.  When it came time for the final exit, the Newlyweds headed off to their new life as a married couple.  Congratulations Jeremiah and Sam!

Congratulations Andrew and Maddy

Despite the fact that COVID forced changes to this wedding, it was perfect.  The guest list was cut in half, but there was still plenty of dancing and fun.  The ceremony was held in the venue’s outdoor chapel, which overlooks Galveston Bay. Instead of a traditional altar, the backdrop was a gold ring dripping in greenery.  During the vows, a paddle wheeler passed by in the background.  Great timing!

When the guests entered the ballroom, they found it decorated to match the wedding colors of navy and maroon.  The colors were just right for a winter wedding.  The bridal party wore floor-length maroon dresses, with beautiful faux fur stoles.  I loved the stoles!  The tables had blue floor-length cloths topped with white china, gold flatware, gold-rimmed crystal glasses and gold coffee cups.  It was all so elegant.  The centerpieces were unique and amazing.  They had cream and maroon flowers nestled in winter greenery.  Gold branches, gold geometric vases and gold votives completed the look.

As a nod to guest safety, guests were handed navy or maroon masks when they arrived.  There were baskets of green, yellow and red wristbands that told how the guest prefers to meet others.  Green means they were open to handshakes and high fives.  Yellow meant elbows only, and red meant greet from 6 feet.  There was also a basket of personalized hand sanitizer bottles, with Maddy and Andrew’s names and wedding date on them.  In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, Maddy and Andrew had one small tier on a cake stand for cutting, and the rest of the table held assorted cake balls.  The white cake had a maroon ribbon running around the bottom and it was topped with fresh flowers.

For a smaller wedding, this one sure had a lot of dancing.  From Oldies to Country to 80’s to current hits, this group liked to dance.  At one point, during “Shout” two guys were laying on the dance floor! When the night came to an end, the newlyweds ran through lines of guests ringing bells, climbed into their car, and headed off to their new life together.  Congratulations Andrew and Maddy!
