Congratulations Will and Cheryl

This couple wanted a beautiful and fun reception, and they got it!  The wedding color of slate blue was carried out throughout the whole ballroom.  The tables had ivory floor length cloths with silver chargers and slate blue napkins.  The high/low centerpieces were low vases of ivory roses and blue hydrangeas or tall vases of the same flowers.  Candles surrounded the centerpieces and each place setting had a favor of a coaster with a sand dollar imprinted on it, tied with ribbon and the couple’s names.   For the final touch, we had blue uplights shining up the walls, giving the ballroom a blue glow.   It was all so pretty!

In lieu of a traditional guest book, this couple had 4 anniversary bottles of wine.  The bottles were numbered with 1, 3, 5, and 10.  The guests signed the bottles and the couple will open the right numbered bottles on their anniversaries.  What a great idea!  The three-tiered, stacked wedding cake was   It was all white, with elegant designs running around each tier.  The cake was accented with flowers, and the silver topper said “Love.”  It was on a silver cake stand, which tied in with the wedding colors.

When it came time to dance, this crowd had a blast!  There was non-stop dancing all night, at some points, almost everyone was on the dance floor.  There was even a hilarious, spontaneous soul train line.  What a great group!

When the night came to a close with the last dance, the guests stayed to bid farewell to the newlyweds before they headed off to their new life.  Congratulations Will and Cheryl!

Congratulations Jose and Kathleen

This historic ballroom with windows overlooking a park was perfect for an afternoon wedding.  The wedding had the colors of lilac, Tiffany blue and light grey, and they were in all aspects of the wedding.  Jose and his groomsmen wore grey tuxedos with ivory boutonnieres.  The bridal party wore pretty lilac dress and carried bouquets of lilac hydrangea.  Kathleen was gorgeous in her satin gown and lace trimmed veil.

The tables had off white floor-length tablecloths topped with silver chargers.  The centerpieces were lilac colored bowls filled with lilac hydrangea and greenery.  Each was accented by bottles filled with fairy lights.  The theme for this wedding was “the key to my heart,” so there were silver keys on the centers of the tables.  Next to the guestbook, there were old-fashioned keys tied to small cards.  A sign said, “The key to a happy marriage.”  The guests kept the keys as favors, and wrote notes to the couple, giving advice for a future of happiness.  The notes were then hung from a lighted tree.  For another favor, each place setting had a tiny bottle, and inside was a personalized ribbon and a mini rosary.  For an awesome accent, we projected a GOBO monogram on the dance floor.  It had the couple’s names inside a pretty scroll design.

The wedding cake was made to match the “Key to my Heart” theme as well.  It had three, stacked tiers, and the middle tier had a silver keyhole, and lying next to it was a large key.  Once the cake was cut, more sweets were available to the guests: there was a table filled with cookies, brownies, and other treats.

This couple did an interesting garter removal that I’ve heard about but never saw in person:  Jose was blindfolded before he removed the garter.  What he didn’t know is that, instead of the garter being on Kathleen’s leg, a male friend put the garter on his leg instead.  So, when Jose went for the garter, he found a hairy leg.  Too funny!  He took it well and laughed as much as the guests.  Jose also showed his great sense of humor when Kathleen gave him a white frosting mustache and goatee after they cut the cake.  They are a fun couple!

When the day came to an end with the last dance, the couple walked through their cheering family and friends, climbed in their car, and headed off.  Congratulations Jose and Kathleen!
