The ballroom where this ceremony and reception took place was
on the 9th floor of the hotel, and it must have one of the best
views in Galveston. Todd and Meredith
got married in front of a wall of windows, with Moody Garden’s pyramids in the
distance. To go with the wedding colors
of navy, burgundy and blush, the bridesmaids wore floor-length blush
dresses. Todd’s groomsmen wore navy
shirts with burgundy ties. The flowers
were beautiful, with dark red, cream, and blush roses, accented with winter
greenery. The centerpieces on the ballroom tables matched the wedding’s colors as
well. They alternated between all ivory
hydrangeas, or colorful roses matching the bouquets.
When the guests arrived, they were greeted by a non-traditional
guestbook. They signed small, wooden
hearts and dropped them in a shadow box.
Later, the newlyweds can hang the shadow box in their home. When it came time to cut the cake, Meredith
and Todd’s kids came up and turned it into a family cake cutting. The three-tiered, stacked cake was
gorgeous. It had semi-naked frosting and
was accented with burgundy and blush flowers.
To match the wedding colors, it sat on a gold cake stand.
This couple chose to skip the bouquet and garter, which gave
us more dance time. They wanted a lot of
80’s and 90’s music, and the guests loved it! They asked us to play the song
Kung Fu Fighting, and everyone was on the dance floor kicking and karate
chopping. It was hilarious! There
were a lot of kids at this wedding, but they knew the music and were singing
and dancing along. Half the time, the guests were
overflowing the dance floor! Once the
night came to a close, the newlyweds said farewell to their guests before heading
off to their new life together.
Congratulations Todd and Meredith!
