This wedding brought us to a beautiful two-story white
southern plantation that is beautiful
inside and out. The ceremony took place
outside at a gazebo with white draping across the back. Luckily, the rain held off enough for us to
not have to move the ceremony inside.
The wedding colors were navy and dusty rose, so Alistair and his
groomsmen navy tuxes with rose bow ties.
The bridal party wore floor-length dusty rose dresses. The flowers were all in shades of cream and
dusty rose with lots of greenery.
The reception was so elegant! The table assignments were on cards pinned to
a large world map. Each table’s name was
one of the locations on the map. The
locations were important part of the couple’s life: where they met, where they
got engaged, etc. The dinner tables all
had ivory floor-length cloths. The
centerpieces consisted of five vases with pillar candles, with greenery
entwined among them. Smaller votive
candles surrounded the greenery. Each
place setting had a gold charger and navy napkin, and a custom menu card was
tucked in the napkin along with greenery.
The venue has a beautiful staircase and it was accented by greenery and
cream and dusty flowers. The staircase
gave Alistair and Alexia a beautiful entrance into the reception.
In lieu of a traditional guestbook, there was a large round
frame with the Alexia and Alistair’s last initial and wedding date on it. The guests signed small wood hearts that went
into the frame. There was something I’ve
never seen before: a wedding pinata, shaped like a llama. The guests wrote notes on small pieces of
paper that they then dropped into the top of the pinata. On their first anniversary, Alistair and
Alexia will break open the notes and read them.
I loved that!
This couple had a fun cake that was a bit out of the
norm. They had one small traditional
round cake for cutting, and it was surrounded by mini bundt cakes in assorted
flavors. The guests loved those! When it came to dancing, there were fun light
up foam glow sticks for the guests to play with: they were really cool! When the night came to an end, the newlyweds
were showered with bio-degradable snow before they drove off. Congratulations Alistair and Alexia!
