Congratulations Robert and Amanda

This reception was held in a historic ballroom, which was perfect for the rustic/vintage theme.  The tables had floor-length cloths with burlap and lace runners.  There were two different styles of centerpieces: one had flowers in a wooden vase which looked like a tree with the couple’s initials carved into it.  Amanda’s mom used a wood burning tool to do the initials, and they looked awesome!  The other centerpiece consisted of three candles which looked like wood. 

Amanda’s cake was perfect for the rustic décor as well.  It had four stacked tiers, with the second and fourth iced to look like wood.  The top and third tiers were in ivory frosting with natural icing lines.  The cake sat on a wood cake stand and had two characters from Dragon Ball Z making up the topper.  Robert’s cake was in a Dragon Ball Z theme, to match their cake toppers.  His cake had a Kame House surrounded by Dragon Ball Z characters, all on an island.  How fun!

There was a candy buffet for the guests to enjoy, and they used something I’ve never seen used to hold the candy: ice buckets that looked like metal pails.  They were perfect for a vintage or rustic wedding!  For a personalized non-traditional guest book, the guests signed their names inside leaves on a framed print of a tree.  The card ‘box’ consisted of a coral colored antique suitcase. 

When the night came to an end, the happy couple drove off in their decorated truck.  Congratulations Robert and Amanda!

Congratulations Michael and Miranda

This ceremony and reception were at a unique venue which was perfect for this fun-loving couple.  Behind the museum, there was a gazebo next to vintage trains.  Miranda and Michael got married at the gazebo before moving inside for the reception.  During the wedding ceremony, the couple did a Cord of Three Strands in place of a unity candle or sand ceremony.  The three strands were navy, burgundy and gold, which were their wedding colors. 

As the guests moved into the museum for the reception, they signed a globe in lieu of a traditional guest book.  To match the wedding colors, the tables, which were interspersed among life-size statues of people, had burgundy pin tuck overlays with gold chargers and navy napkins.  The high/low centerpieces alternated between high candelabras with flowers and candles, or low gold vases with burgundy flowers. 

Miranda’s three-tier ivory wedding cake matched the colors of the day, with its edible gold sequins.  Michael’s cake was R2D2 dressed in a tux - I guess Michael must love Star Wars!   For another sweet treat, the guests enjoy filling blue bags with candy from the candy buffet.  When it came time for the evening to end, the Newlyweds ran through lines of guests waving glow sticks before climbing into a limo and heading off to their new life together.  Congratulations Michael and Miranda!

Congratulations Josh and Christina

 This afternoon ceremony and reception with the wedding colors of blue and pink, was perfect for the historic venue.  The bridesmaids wore a variety of long blue dresses while the junior bridesmaids wore knee-length pink dresses.  There were three cute flower girls, all in white dresses and flower wreath crowns.  To tie in with the colors, the groomsmen all wore pink ties.  The tables tied the colors together as well, as they had blue floor-length cloths with ivory lace toppers and pink napkins sat at each place   The high/low centerpieces consisted of vases with ivory hydrangea.  For a personalized touch, each table had a framed picture of Christina and Josh.

The wedding cake matched the colors of the day, as it had three white stacked tiers with pink frosted accents and two sugar flowers decorating the front.  It was simple and pretty, perfect for this afternoon reception.  In lieu of a guestbook, this couple had something we had never seen before:  Suggestion Jars. 

There was a table with empty vases, and cards in front of each saying phrases like, “First Fight,” “5 year Anniversary,” “First Baby,” and other sayings.  The guests wrote advice on the pink and blue cards to the Newlyweds and dropped the cards in the appropriate jars.  What a great idea!

One thing I must say about this wedding was how organized the groomsmen were.  They had lists of their duties, and helped out every way they could.  I’ve never seen groomsmen so detail oriented!  When it came to dancing, this bride loved to tear up the dance floor.  It was so pretty, the way her full skirt flared out around her as she twirled around. 

When it came time for the exit, the couple ran through a shower of pink and white rose petals and climbed into their limo.  Congratulations Josh and Christina!
