This ceremony and reception were at a unique venue which was
perfect for this fun-loving couple. Behind
the museum, there was a gazebo next to vintage trains. Miranda and Michael got married at the gazebo
before moving inside for the reception. During
the wedding ceremony, the couple did a Cord of Three Strands in place of a
unity candle or sand ceremony. The three
strands were navy, burgundy and gold, which were their wedding colors.
As the guests moved into the museum for the reception, they
signed a globe in lieu of a traditional guest book. To match the wedding colors, the tables, which
were interspersed among life-size statues of people, had burgundy pin tuck
overlays with gold chargers and navy napkins.
The high/low centerpieces alternated between high candelabras with
flowers and candles, or low gold vases with burgundy flowers.
Miranda’s three-tier ivory wedding cake matched the colors
of the day, with its edible gold sequins.
Michael’s cake was R2D2 dressed in a tux - I guess Michael must love
Star Wars! For another sweet treat, the
guests enjoy filling blue bags with candy from the candy buffet. When it came time for the evening to end, the
Newlyweds ran through lines of guests waving glow sticks before climbing into a
limo and heading off to their new life together. Congratulations Michael and Miranda!
