Congratulations Joseph and Joanna

This spring wedding featured pretty colors of soft greens, peaches, yellows, corals and lavenders. They were perfect for the outdoor Ceremony under a huge oak tree surrounded by flowers and the indoor Reception. After a beautiful Ceremony which included a reading of a fun quote by Dr. Seuss, the guests moved over to the outdoor cocktail area where they were greeted by a bar, appetizers and sno cones. How fun! Following cocktails, guests moved inside for a nice seated meal and enjoyed the little pastel colored boxes of nuts at their place settings. The centerpieces were the perfect romantic touch for this sunny day: they had flowers of peach, pink, coral, off-white and yellow.

The toasts followed and then we moved on to the cake cutting. Joanna’s cake had three round tiers with a simple whipped design and gorgeous open peonies on each. Joseph’s cake featured a logo for his field of practice. Then it was party time! Between the dancing, photo booth and sno cones, this was a fun Reception! We paused for the bouquet and garter and then went right back to the fun until the end. When the night came to a close the Newlyweds shared a last private dance while the guests were outside lighting their sparklers. They then walked out to their waiting guests and headed off to their new life together. Congratulations Joseph and Joanna!

Congratulations Kirk and Patti

This Ceremony and Reception were intimate, beautiful, elegant, classic, romantic, and a lot of fun. The colors for the day were peach and cream, which were perfect for the timeless feel. We placed amber uplights around the Reception room so it had a beautiful golden glow. With a guest list under fifty people, it was a wonderful day in which every guest felt a part. After the Ceremony, the guests moved next door for the Reception. After a delicious seated meal, we moved on to the toast and cake cutting. The two-tiered white cake had the word “love” written all over it and the topper consisted of two white lovebirds snuggling with each other.

Due to the Galveston location, some unique details were tied into the wedding. The sign-in table had a large antique map of Galveston. The guest book was a coffee table style book on the history of Galveston, and the guests signed the pages. The favor cards were old Galveston post cards which had the guest’s name and table number on them. The vintage looking table numbers were in gold frames.

After a great night of family and fun, the newlyweds ran through bubbles while some guests rang bells. They climbed aboard a horse-drawn carriage and headed off down the seawall. Congratulations Kirk and Patti!

Congratulations Andrew and Darlene

This Ceremony and Reception had a soft, romantic feel which was carried out perfectly, with the ivory and gold colors and rose and hydrangea flowers. We had amber uplights around the room which created a romantic glow.  After the Ceremony, which incorporated the Filipino traditions of the veil, cord and coins, we moved on to the Reception. The guests loved the dual buffets: one with American food and one with Filipino food. The toast and cake cutting followed the meal. The Bride’s cake had three stacked tiers with floral accents on each, with roses making up the topper. The Groom’s cake was a table of sweets and desserts – yum!

Once the dancing had started, it was fun from the first song to the last! This crowd loved to dance and it showed. There was a Conga line and a dance-off, with lots of craziness, laughing and fun all night long. It was a great time! They stopped a bit for the Money Dance and Bouquet and Garter, but it was quickly back to the fun.

After a night of non-stop dancing, the evening finally came to a close. The Newlyweds ran through a shower of rose petals and headed off to their Honeymoon. Congratulations Darlene and Andrew!

Congratulations Richard and Michelle

This Ceremony and Reception took place at the Galveston Railroad Museum, and what a cool place! The Ceremony was outside in the gazebo, with palm trees lining the sides, a vintage locomotive in the background and a thick row of orange and red rose petals lining the aisle. Afterwards, guests went inside for the cocktail hour, where they were greeted by a fantastic guest book table with a card box covered in moss, pens for signing which looked like little wood logs and floral print cards for guests to fill out with predictions for the couple’s future.

The colors for the day were red and orange and they were tied together beautifully. The tables had ivory floor-length cloths with orange/red satin runners and orange/red napkins. The centerpieces were low wood boxes filled with either grass or fresh flowers. Each was surrounded with red and orange petals and candles in amber votives. Each place setting had a small burlap favor bag with seeds to plant. This couple did a great job bringing in a natural, organic feel to the day. The cake was a perfect match with its two square, white tiers with small red and orange flowers atop a stand filled with cupcakes, all with red and flowers on them as well.

The trains outside the museum provided a special touch to the day. After the guests finished dinner, many of them went outside to check out the trains, which were open for viewing. Michelle and Richard got to take some amazing photos in and around the trains. One even had a “Just Married” sign on it, so they could stand on the caboose and wave goodbye to the guests.

After the bouquet and garter, the Newlyweds ran though a shower of red and orange rose petals and went off to their new life together. Congratulations Richard and Michelle!!

Congratulations Aric and Lindsay

This Reception was elegant, beautiful, fun and had so many cool details. The colors for the day were baby blue and ivory, and everything tied together beautifully. The tables had floor length ivory linens with baby blue pin-tuck toppers. The silver chargers were topped with ivory napkins. The high-low centerpieces alternated between tall candelabras and low floral arrangements in pale blue and white. For the final dramatic touch, we had blue uplights around the room giving it a gorgeous glow.

There were so many details that were perfection, including a huge dessert table of cookies and blue candies; the custom napkins with the couple’s initials; the two tiered white cake with blue hydrangeas on top; the blue letters spelling out “dessert”, “guest book” and “table placement”; the blue seating chart; the cookie take home boxes with the couples’ initials on top; the signature blue drink at the bar; and more.

One of the toasts was amazing: it was a dramatic recitation of a poem that was written for Lindsay and Aric. It was almost 5 minutes, was done totally from memory and was incredible! We have never seen anything like it before and the guests loved it. Right after the Mother/Son dance, Lindsay and her Bridesmaids as well as a few other women unexpectedly did a flash mob dance for the guests. They were great and really helped kick off the dancing. Speaking of dancing, this group danced non-stop all night. It was so much fun! Line dances, dance offs, a guy spinning on the floor, you name it and it happened. We had as much watching as they did dancing!

When the last dance ended, the Newlyweds ran though sparklers as a new husband and wife. Congratulations Aric and Lindsay!!

Congratulations Reagan and Nicholas

This elegant Reception had a New Orleans flair, and it was as fun as it was beautiful!  The colors for the day were black and white with touches of pale pink.  The guests enjoyed a serenade from a New Orleans Jazz band as they left the church and walked over to the Reception.  They entered the cocktail room, which had gorgeous lounge furniture highlighted by our pink Uplights.  Then the guests moved into the main ballroom, where the tables had floor length ivory cloths surrounded by black chivari chairs.  There was a custom menu card tucked into each napkin and matching escort cards on the tables.  The centerpieces were tall black candelabras surrounded by candles, but a few tables had shorter vases of baby’s breath.  We had amber Uplights spread around the room and the dance floor, and they gave the whole room a dramatic amber glow.

During the introduction, Reagan and Nicholas set the tone for the evening when they danced their way in to the New Orleans Saints song and threw beads to the guests.  An amazing seated dinner followed while we played the sounds of Jazz and New Orleans. Each guest also enjoyed a mini bottle of hot sauce, which held their escort card.  After dinner, Nicholas and Reagan cut their cakes.  The Bride’s cake featured four round stacked, ivory tiers, with the couple’s last initial on the front.  Nicholas’ cake was perfect: It had a Bride and Groom on it, and underneath it said “Game Over.  Bourbon Street, New Orleans.”  Too funny!  Toasts came next, and then it was party time!

Soon into the evening, Reagan’s mom came into the room with Reagan’s little dog Grace. Grace even had on an outfit, featuring a bow on it that matched the ribbon band on the bottom tier of Reagan’s cake! Grace, used to being around people, was a big hit, and enjoyed the attention as well as dancing. Yes, dancing!

Near the end of the evening, beignets were brought around to the guests, who loved them, of course. Finally, after a night of great food and dancing, the Newlyweds shared their last dance together before heading off to Jamaica. Congratulations Nicholas and Reagan!

Congratulations Mary-Colette and Zane

What a gorgeous, elegant Reception with a fun Bride and Groom! The colors for the day were navy, light green and white and the ballroom was beautiful. The tables had navy pin-tuck cloths and the surrounding chairs had ivory covers with navy ties. The centerpieces alternated between tall crystal trees with lights shining up them and vases with hydrangeas and curly willow. Each place setting had a gold charger topped by a navy napkin. For the final touch, we had amber uplights around the room, giving it a golden glow.

After dinner and the toasts, Mary-Colette and Zane cut the cakes. The Bride’s cake had three pale green, round stacked tiers with elegant white designs on each. It was topped by green hydrangeas. Zane’s chocolate cake had a mini antique bicycle on top, a nod to his love of cycling. The Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances came next, and then it was party time!

After a lot of fun dancing, one of the funniest bouquet tosses I’ve seen in a while, and the guests enjoying a photo booth, the Newlyweds headed off to their party bus and their new life. Congratulations Zane and Mary-Colette!

Congratulations Minhtri and Stacy

What a beautiful wedding! The Ceremony and Reception took place in the same ballroom, which was decorated in white and shades of purple and pink. The beautiful altar had a white stage with a tall white pipe and drape backdrop backlit with white lights and pink uplights. Additionally, there were gorgeous floral arrangements accenting the pipe and drape. The aisle for the ceremony had white pillars topped with purple flowers. For the final touch, the Newlyweds built the stairs for the altar and painted their names on the front for all to see during the vows.

After the Ceremony and cocktail hour, the guests returned to the re-set ballroom for a delicious seated meal. The tables had floor length pin-tuck cloths with a variety of centerpieces featuring flowers in shades of purple, white and pink. The chairs had white covers with ties matching the table cloths. The toasts and cake cutting followed. The beautiful cake had five white tiers with alternating designs. Each had a silver band around the bottom and the topper consisted of edible purple and white flowers. A few pink orchids accented each tier. The bouquet toss came next, and then it was party time!!

Everyone had fun on the dance floor until it was time to leave. After the last dance, the Newlyweds headed up to the elevator to their honeymoon suite. Congratulations Minhtri and Stacy and enjoy Hawaii!!

Congratulations John and Ann

Congratulations John and Ann

This Reception took place a few weeks after the Newylweds got married beachside in Key West. So, of course, a beach theme Reception was in order. The tables had white cloths with centerpieces of shells and candles while the Sweetheart Table also had a blue fish net draped across one side with seashells in it. Very cute!!

The guests received favors in white boxes tied with blue ribbons, a perfect match for the ocean colors. There were pictures of the beach Ceremony on the sign in table for the guests to enjoy and even the guest book matched with seashell designs on the front. Ann in her bridal gown and John in his white shirt and khakis were perfect as well, wearing their Ceremony attire for the Reception.

The guests enjoyed a dinner, toast and cake cutting, and after the First Dance and Father/Daughter dance, had a fun time on the dance floor until it was time to leave. Congratulations John and Ann!

Congratulations Will and Kelly

This beautiful spring Reception featured the colors of grey and pink, and our eight fuchsia uplights tied it all together. The tables had black pin tuck cloths with silver chargers and the chairs had ivory covers with black ties. The high/low floral centerpieces featured elegant colors of ivory and pink with candles.

Following the First Dance, a delicious dinner and six toasts, we moved onto the cake cutting. Kelly’s cake had three round, stacked, ivory tiers with a black ribbon around the bottom of each. Pink roses made up the topper along with the couples’ last initial on the second tier. Will’s chocolate cake had ganache and strawberries on the top. The parent’s dances came next and then on to the dancing.

After a fun night of dancing and the bouquet and garter, the evening came to a close. Will and Kelly made their way though a shower of bubbles and headed off to their new life as husband and wife. Congratulations Kelly and Will!

Congratulations Sesar and Raquel

This Ceremony and Reception were held at a newer venue that has a large patio over the water. The water front Ceremony was followed by cocktails and a Reception in the ballroom. The colors for the day were purple, grey, black and ivory, and it was all so elegant. The tables had grey crushed taffeta linens, with black sheer embellished runners. The china chargers were topped with black napkins in bling napkin rings and custom menu cards that matched the ceremony programs. The high/low centerpieces had purple, green and ivory flowers surrounded by candles. The room was beautiful.

During dinner, we played three slideshows that were put together by Raquel’s father. He did a great job! After dinner, we moved on to the toast and cake cutting. Raquel’s cake had four stacked ivory tiers with purple flowers on top. Sesar’s ‘cake’ consisted of a dessert table with key lime pie, cherry cheesecake and other sweets. When we did the Anniversary Dance, the longest married couple of 47 years gave advice to the Newlyweds. At one point during dancing, in a Mexican tradition, a bunch of guys threw Sesar up and down in the air! Later in the evening, a traditional Columbian group came in and played live music for the guests for an hour. And all night long, there was a full dance floor.

The Bouquet and Garter came later, there was a lot more fun and dancing, and then the night came to a close. Sesar and Raquel shared their last dance together and headed off to their new life together. Congratulations Sesar and Raquel!

Congratulations Christopher and Hanna

The colors for this wedding were ivory, pink and green, with the Bridal Party wearing grey satin dresses with ivory wraps.  After a beautiful outdoor Ceremony, the guests moved inside for the Reception.  The tables had ivory floor-length cloths with high/low centerpieces of pink, green and white hydrangea and roses.  The three-tiered, stacked, white Bride’s cake matched as well, with pink roses on top.  The Groom’s cake was Boston Cream Pie cake.  Yum!  Add in a candy buffet with the cutest little fabric bags, and these guests were on a sugary, happiness high, just like the Newlyweds.  After plenty of dancing and the Bouquet Toss, Hanna and Christopher shared the Last Dance with their guests.  They ran through a shower of bubbles and headed off to their new life together.  Congratulations Christopher and Hanna!

Congratulations Mike and Steph

This Wedding Reception was held in a venue overlooking a marina, so the blue color for the day was perfect. The tables had blue tablecloths with white overlays and centerpieces of candles with blue rocks. The cake matched as well, with its three stacked white tiers, each featuring a different design. The bottom of each had a blue ribbon around it and fresh blue hydrangeas adorned the top.

This was a crowd that loved to dance and be interactive, and it showed. During dinner, a group of guests stood up together and did some type of chant/cheer which was from a group they belonged to with Steph. During the First Dance, many of the men in the room stood up and sang along at one point during the song. That was unexpected and great! Later in the evening, a bunch of guys made a pyramid on the dance floor, with Mike in the middle and Steph on the top. It was hilarious!! Seeing a beautiful bride on top of a human pyramid is one of the most awesome things we’ve ever seen at a wedding.

It was a fun evening of dancing and words of advice from the two longest married couples in the room who were both married 44 years. How’s that for inspiration? When the night came to a close, the Newlyweds said farewell to their guests and headed off to their relaxing beach Honeymoon. Congratulations Mike and Steph!

Congratulations Brant and Alison

This was a really cool Wedding Reception! The theme was 1960’s vintage glam and the colors were navy blue, teal and green. The venue was an old movie theater built in the 1920’s and besides having the large movie screen it has wood floors and brick walls. There was even an old movie playing on the screen during the dance portion of the Reception. Alison and her Bridal Party had retro-styled up-dos and Alison wore an elegant satin vintage wedding gown. Add in the hydrangea centerpieces with peacock feathers and everything was perfect.

The guests love the food with a Cuban flair, including a roast pig, and enjoyed the white Bride’s cake with lemon pineapple filling. The Groom’s chocolate cake was the topper to the night. There were plenty of other details that were unique and fun. The cake topper had little flags with Mr. and Mrs. on them with a little wooden penguin Bride and Groom beneath. The guest book consisted of Jenga tiles and each guest signed one, so Brant and Alison will remember them when they play the game later. The Newlyweds even had their names on the marquee on the front of the gallery, which was awesome for pictures and their sparkler exit. Congratulations Brant and Alison!!

Congratulations Kimberly and Tony

This Reception featured the colors of black, white, and touches of pink. It was so pretty, especially in historic Ashton Villa. The tables had black cloths and the chairs had white satin covers with black satin ties. The high/low centerpieces consisted of floral arrangements with curly willow or tall candelabras. All of them had candles around the bottom. To add the final perfect touches, we had eight amber Uplights along the walls and a custom GOBO monogram on the dance floor. The room was beautiful!!

Kimberly’s cake consisted of marble cupcakes with a small layer on top to save. Tony’s chocolate cake had the Texas A&M seal on top, which was perfect since the couple both attended A&M. Of course, we played the Aggie War Hymn during the dancing, and that got a good crowd on the dance floor.

Kimberly and Tony had a great candy buffet for their guests, which was a big hit. The guests had fun laughing, dancing and eating until it came time for the last dance and the exit. Tony and Kimberly made their way to a limo as the guests threw tiny heart-shaped rice and wished them well. Congratulations Tony and Kimberly!!

Another Great Time with Mainland Bank

This was our third year in a row providing the musical entertainment for the bank’s annual Preferred Customer Banquet. They really love their customers and it shows! The guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner and dessert followed by gambling at the casino tables. Near the end of the night, everyone traded in their winnings for tickets, which go into the drawing for great prizes. The banquet is always a lot of fun and it’s nice to see Mainland Bank showing their customers how much they appreciate them. We had a great time and hope to see you all again next year!

Congratulations Tim and Michelle

This Wedding Reception was a special treat for us because we provided DJ services for Michelle’s sister a year and a half ago, and it was so nice to see the family again. The colors for this wedding were navy and ivory with touches of beige and pink. It was really pretty with all the vintage/rustic accents. There were so many details I don’t know if I could even name them all, but they included a thumbprint tree for the guestbook, a framed piece of burlap with the couple’s last initial on it, a table of little brown bags of cookies for the guests to take home (they had a doily with a tiny clothespin at the top – too cute!), a chalkboard at the bar listing the available drinks, two moss covered hearts with burlap ribbon saying Mr. and Mrs. tied to Tim’s and Michelle’s chairs, a cute little vintage-looking wood couple on top of the cake, high/low floral centerpieces with old-fashioned bottles and more. Combine all those touches with a historic ballroom, and it was perfect!

Michelle’s cake had a vintage look as well. It had three pale blush-colored stacked tiers with delicate white floral accents. Tim’s cake was another story. It was a replica of a Star Destroyer from Star Wars. It was pretty cool! There was an Anniversary Dance with the longest married couple in the room being married 56 years (awesome!), a Money Dance, and more fun until the end.

Tim and Michelle were showered with bubbles as they ran to their car and drove off to their new life. Congratulations to both of you!!

Ringing in the New Year at Bay Oaks Country Club

This country club loves their members, and it shows. They had amazing food stations for dinner, ranging from all kinds of Australian seafood (shrimp, oysters, scallops, etc.) to French cuisine, to Spanish tapas, to Swiss chocolates for dessert, and more. Everyone loved it! After their incredible meal, the dance music started up and we partied until midnight. We counted down to the New Year, played Auld Lang Syne, everyone kissed and cheered and the dancing continued. And then the American buffet then opened up, with black eyed peas, cabbage, and other goodies for everyone to enjoy. As 1:00 rolled around, the guests enjoyed a last dance and headed off to enjoy the New Year. Happy New Year to everyone at Bay Oaks Country Club!
