Despite the rainy weather as the remnants of Hurricane
Patricia passed over, there were plenty of guests at this wedding to help The
Newlyweds celebrate their special day.
The color for this wedding was purple and it was reflected in the
centerpieces, the gorgeous bouquets, the cake topper, the favor cards and the
Bridal Party’s dresses. The tables had
three different styles of centerpieces: purple vases holding candles, clear
vases holding candles, or smaller purple vases holding candles. There were also vases of white roses around
each centerpiece, and purple rose petals were scattered around the center of
the tables.
After a nice seated meal, we moved on to the toasts and cake
cutting. Becky’s cake consisted of assorted
mini bundt cakes arranged on a tiered platform.
The top tier was one large bundt cake, which the couple cut. The guests loved the bundtlets so much that they
were quickly gone! Dave’s white cake had
a Florida Gators logo on top and designs running around the side.
Later, after the special dances like the Father/Daughter
dance and the Mother/Son dance, we did the Anniversary Dance. The longest married couple in the room had
been married 39 years and gave some wise, and funny, advice to Dave and Becky.
There were a lot of details at this Reception that I loved. The favors consisted of bags of the couple’s
favorite coffees, all stacked in a basket near the escort cards. The escort cards matched the wedding colors,
as they were in two colors to match the guest’s choice of meals. Near the sign in table were cards that the
guests signed giving advice to the Newlyweds.
Once finished, the guests slipped the cards into an album. Becky’s cake topper was adorable: it was two
little people with a purple banner hanging behind them. Even the butter on the tables was cute, as it
was in little heart-shaped pats.
Though it was still pouring outside, plenty of guests stayed
and partied the night away until the end of the Reception. Everyone joined in the Last Dance before the
Newlyweds ran through sparklers and headed off to their new life as a married
couple. Congratulations Dave and Becky!
