By now everyone has heard of the annual Keels & Wheels Concours d' Elegance, a classic car and vintage wooden boat show. The
event is held at Lakewood Yacht Club and 10,000 – 15,000 people attend the full
weekend of events each year. You get to
look at all the amazing cars and boats and help raise money for the Boys and
Girls Harbor. We were proud to be
selected to provide the DJ entertainment for the Saturday night Oldies but
Goodies dinner and dance. They did a
great job with the décor, having centerpieces of floral arrangements that
looked like old fashioned sodas alternating with classic cars sitting on record
albums. We even had a large cut out of
a pink vintage car in front of our table – that was cool! After a delicious dinner, Keith Martin, the
publisher of Sports Car Market Magazine, took over as Master of
Ceremonies. He welcomed car celebrities
such as Wayne Carini, the host of Chasing Classic Cars, and others. He even interviewed a 103 year old woman who
spoke about her vintage car she bought in the 1930’s and still owns! When the dance floor opened, the guests
danced to oldies and 50’s music until the very end, and it was a lot of fun
watching them dance. Thanks Keels &
Wheels, we had a great time!
