Congratulations Shea and Abby

This wedding was filled with many special elements that reflected Abby and Shea and their relationship.  To start, the guests arrived to see the sidewalk in front of the venue covered in chalk scriptures and pictures.  Abby and her father used to do that when she was little. 

The color for the day was turquoise, accented with rustic touches.  The bridal party wore a variety of turquoise knee-length dresses with cowboy boots.  They, as well as Abby, carried bouquets of white and turquoise flowers.  The groomsmen were handsome in their black tuxes with turquoise vests and ties.  Shea wore the same, but with a turquoise bow tie.  The colors were perfect for a spring wedding.

Abby and Shea greeted each guest as they entered the reception.  The guests then found tables with white floor-length table cloths topped by centerpieces of mason jars filled with white and turquoise flowers.  Underneath each centerpiece was a square of burlap.  The couple’s sweetheart table featured turquoise mason jars with flowers.  There was a bell sitting on the table, and it had “Ring for a kiss” written on it.   I guess that bell was rung a few too many times, as it soon disappeared off the table.  We did one unique thing we did at this wedding that we have never done before: read a short bio of each person toasting.  We’d introduce them and tell the guests about their relationship with Shea and Abby, and then they’d do their toast.  The bios were a huge hit!  For another way to make their wedding personal and entertain the guests, the couple played the shoe game.  Abby and Shea really know each other well, as most of their answers matched.

The white, three-tier, stacked cake was simple and elegant:  perfect for this wedding.  All the tiers had scroll designs on them, and the topper was a Willow Tree bride and groom.  To reflect Abby’s career in the Navy, they cut the cake with a sword.  Shea’s ‘groom’s cake’ was a big hit: root beer floats!  The staff were scooping up ice cream and covering it with root beer as the guests looked on.   When the guests weren’t eating delicious cake, drinking root beer floats, or dancing, they were taking fun pictures in our photo booth.  We customized the strips to match the wedding and they were a great match!  When the wedding came to a close with the last dance, the newlyweds ran through a tunnel of sparklers and headed off in a horse-drawn carriage.  Congratulations Shea and Abby!

Congratulations Jack and Delaney

This wedding was perfect for such a sweet couple.  With the wedding colors of lavender and grey, the walls of windows allowed the colors to blend in with the spring weather outside.  After the indoor ceremony (good idea for the heat this time of year), we moved on to the reception.   To match the wedding colors, the tables had floor length ivory linens and lavender overlays.  The tables were topped by alternating centerpieces of ivory and lavender flowers or ivory lanterns.  For a fun touch, Jack’s grandfather, who is a professional accordion player, played some songs during dinner, and later, some during dancing.

When guests arrived, they were greeted with a unique guest book.  The book was about the historic properties of Galveston and each guest picked a page to sign.  The wedding was held in Galveston in a historic property, so the book was perfect.  Next to the book was a jar holding favors of sugar almonds in lavender bags.  There were also goodie bags for the kids, holding coloring books, markers, stickers and candy.   Delaney’s three-tiered cake with natural frosting matched the wedding colors as well, as it had lavender roses accenting the tiers and making up the topper.  Jack’s groom’s cake was chocolate, and the guests loved that one too!

There was plenty of dancing before the night came to an end with the last dance.  The newlyweds ran through a tunnel of waving glow sticks before heading off to their new life together.  Congratulations Jack and Delaney!

Congratulations Cody and Genevieve

This couple wanted a fun and Cinco de Mayo influenced day, and they got it!  To start, the ceremony was held in the venue’s outdoor chapel.  With tall beams and pew-style seating, it was beautiful.  For a memorable entrance, Genevieve and her bridal party arrived to the ceremony in a boat!  The groomsmen met the bridal party at the dock and escorted them to the altar.  The guys wore khakis and blue oxford shirts with yellow ties, and Cody was handsome in his blue suit and yellow tie.  The bridesmaids wore blue dresses and carried bright colored bouquets with yellow sunflowers.  During the water-side cocktail hour, guests enjoyed appetizers including chips with a queso fountain.

This wedding was filled with many details that personalized the day.  The path to the ceremony had buckets of water bottles wrapped in personalized labels.  The guests picked up blue fans with the ceremony program printed on them.  There were signs with the table assignments in the elevators and in the ballroom, to help guests find their seats.  At each place setting, there was a personalized drink coaster, with the couple’s names and wedding hashtag on it.  The area around the elevator was decorated, and there was a chafer of warm, moist washcloths in the restroom! 

The ballroom was decorated perfectly with the wedding colors.  Each table had a white tablecloth topped with a blue pin-tuck overlay.  Each had a centerpiece of bright flowers and yellow sunflowers.  The chairs had white satin chair covers with blue ties.  To give the room a golden, candelight glow, we had amber uplights lining the walls. 

The four-tiered, stacked wedding cake was perfect for this Cinco de Mayo wedding.  Each tier had Mexican-style designs running down the front.  To top that, the cake was surrounded with four satellite cakes, each a different flavor, and each having a different cake topper.  The guests loved the cakes!

We were told this wedding was going to be a lot of fun, with a lot of dancing, and they were right!  The dance floor was packed from the first song to the last.  Country, Pop, Oldies, it didn’t matter, the guests loved them all!  When the reception came to an end with the last dance, guests headed outside, lined up to the dock, and waved glow sticks as the newlyweds made their exit on a boat.  How awesome!  Congratulations Cody and Genevieve!
