Congratulations Bob and Melissa

This wedding ceremony and reception took place at one of our favorite venues: the historic Hotel Galvez.  The ceremony took place on the front lawn of the hotel, with the ocean in the background.  With the wedding colors of greenery and neutrals, the outdoor location was perfect.  To match the wedding colors, the bridal party wore emerald green dresses and Melissa and her bridal party carried bouquets of ivory flowers.  Bob and his groomsmen were handsome in their black tuxes and ivory boutonnieres.

When the guests entered the reception, they signed Jenga blocks in lieu of a guest book.  There were lip balm favors, with Melissa and Bob’s names on them and “Our love is the balm!”  The guests were also given bags of love knots, which were chocolate covered pretzels.  The semi-naked wedding cake had two stacked tiers, with a figurine of a couple on top.  The flavor was funfetti – fun!  Bob’s chocolate groom’s cake had white frosting with an orange and blue Astros emblem on top.

To give the ballroom a beautiful glow, we had 10 uplights shining up the pillars.  That allowed us to turn down the house lights and set the perfect atmosphere for dancing.  When it came to dancing, this crowd was a bit slow at the beginning, but boy did that change!  They were having all kinds of fun during the last hour!  To make things more fun, we had our photo booth and they took lots of great pictures in it.

For a special treat, Bob and Melissa had a late night snack for the guests.  The mini corn dog bites and grilled cheese sandwiches were a hit!  When the night came to an end after the last dance, the newlyweds stayed and said farewell to their guests before heading out.  Congratulations Bob and Melissa!

Fun at a Company Holiday Party

We had a great time at a holiday party for SAIC.  Once dinner was over, we played the Hot Potato game.  Players were in a circle on the dance floor, passing a stuffed Santa Claus around.  When the music stopped, you were out if you were holding Santa.  The lucky winner got a small trophy they can proudly put on their desk and brag about their win.  The game was so funny!  When it was time to dance, our dance floor lighting package set the mood.  This crowd danced to all kinds of music and had a blast.  I hope we get to work with them next year!

Congratulations John and Lauren

This wedding reception was a bit different for us, and we loved it!  John and Lauren eloped a few months ago, so the reception was for celebrating locally with their family and friends.   Their colors were navy and sage, so the tables had navy runners with floral centerpieces of cream flowers and greenery.  The cocktail tables each had 3 vases with candles and dried flowers.  First, the reception started with cocktail hour.  Lauren (in her beautiful wedding dress) and John were there, greeting their guests.  For a unique guest book, the guests signed a blue globe with gold marker.

After the couple thanked guests for attending and had their first dance, it was fun until the end. When it was party time, we turned on our blue uplights to give the room a beautiful blue glow. This couple skipped all the traditional reception elements but that didn’t stop everyone from having a good time.  Instead of a wedding cake, they had a dessert table featuring banana pudding, cheesecake, chocolate dipped strawberries and more.  The guests loved that!  When the night came to a close after the last dance, the newlyweds headed out to continue celebrating at an after party.  Congratulations John and Lauren!
