Congratulations Kyle and Joanna

First Dance
What a fun couple a lot of fun friends! This evening Reception took place at the Hotel Galvez, which is gorgeous with its historic details. The colors for this day were ivory and black with punches of dark fuchsia pink. The tables had floor length ivory linens surrounded by chivari chairs. The high/low centerpieces had white hydrangea and lanterns. We had eight amber Uplights highlighting the columns in the room, and they were the perfect touch!
There were some fun, unique details at the Reception. For the sign in ‘book’, guests signed one of five large wine bottles, which were labeled 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, and 15 years. On each anniversary, Joanna and Kyle will open a bottle and drink the wine. A photobooth was a great accent for this group, and the favors of salt-water taffy from La King’s were perfect.

Amber Uplights, before, during dinner, during dancing
After the toasts and the cutting of the elegant four-tiered ivory cake, it was party time! We were told this group loved to dance and have fun, and what we heard was right. They had a great time all night, dancing, laughing, and just having a blast. Nearer to the end, Joanna changed into a short white party dress, came back, and kept on partying! This group was truly hilarious, and had us laughing all night long. After a great evening of fun, the night came to a close. After the last dance, everyone headed over to the bar and the party kept on going. Congratulations Kyle and Joanna!

Congratulations Chatman and Holly

Amber Uplights and Cake Table Spots, Before and After

This December wedding had a hint of Christmas in it, and it was gorgeous. The colors were dark red and ivory, and they were reflected throughout the flowers, linens and décor. The tables had ivory cloths with three different styles of centerpieces, from tall candelabras to floral arrangements. Of course, they featured dark red, ivory, and seasonal accents including berries. To make the whole room glow with beauty, we provided fifteen amber Uplights. It was amazing!

After a pretty outdoor Ceremony with strings providing the music, the guests came indoors for cocktails and dinner. After dinner came the cake cutting. Holly’s four tiered, monochromatic off-white cake was gorgeous. There was an occasional design on the cake tiers, but the highlight was the trail of edible rose petals running down the front from the top tier to the bottom. They almost looked like ruffles. Chatman’s cake wasn’t a cake at all: it was fourteen pies of assorted flavors, from pumpkin and pecan pie to chocolate mousse. They were a big hit!

After the Bouquet and Garter, dancing and fun, the evening came to a close. The Newlyweds ran through a shower of bio-degradable “snow” and headed off to their new life as husband and wife. Congratulations Chatman and Holly, and enjoy your New York Honeymoon!

First Dance

This December wedding had just the right touch of Christmas accents to add to the holiday feel. The colors were berry red and platinum, and they were perfect. The tables had floor-length platinum table cloths and the chairs had matching covers. The centerpieces had glass vases filled with red and silver ornaments and candles or red berries with candles.

After a beautiful Ceremony with one of the most wonderfully worded sand ceremonies I’ve ever seen, we moved onto the Reception. The cake had three stacked white tiers, with a few edible poinsettias on each tier. To tie in the theme more, Emily and Brian set up a decorated Christmas tree on the stage, poinsettias were used for decor, and the rooms had just the right amount of Christmas lights. It was so pretty!

Cake Cutting
This crowd loved to have fun and it showed. Dancing, singing along to the music, Brian and his friends serenading the guests with a song that one of them wrote, you name it. And Emily surprised us when she busted out the moves! We also had an Anniversary Dance, and the longest married couple of 44 years shared some advice on marriage. After a lot of fun, we had the Last Dance, and then the Newlyweds headed off through bubbles to a vintage car. Congratulations Brian and Emily!!

Had a Good Time with Anadarko Industries

Red and Greem Uplights
12/12/12 led us to another company holiday party, this time with Anadarko Industries.  They had a great seated dinner followed by dessert.  Awards and speeches followed, and then the dance floor was open until the end.  To add to the elegant look, we had six red and green Uplights accenting the room.  Thanks Anadarko, and we hope to see you next year!

A Great Holiday Party with Inspectorate America

Saturday’s party was a great time for everyone. The party started with dinner, and then moved on to some speeches followed by a surprise slide show to the retiring VP. Following that, it was dancing until the end. This company was so generous with their employees: there must have been over 50 door prizes, from gift cards to airline tickets - wow! To add the final touch to the gorgeous room, we added 7 amber Uplights, which made it even more elegant. We had a great time with all of you and hope to see you again next year!

We had fun with Burns & McDonnell

We had a great time at this Company Holiday Party. They enjoyed a delicious meal and dessert, had live entertainment by two puppets, and then it was dancing until the end. The puppets had real people inside of them wearing full body costumes, dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus. They went table to table, joking around with the guests and cracking everyone up. After the show, it was party time! As a nice gesture, most of the employees brought toys for Toys for Tots, and two Marines accepted the gifts. There were great toys, including bicycles, RC cars, and Razors skateboards. Wow! We had a great time, and hope to see you all again next year!

Congratulations Austin and Amanda

Yummy!
The colors of this evening Reception were eggplant and silver, and it was so elegant. The tables had floor-length eggplant satin cloths with silver burnout overlays. The chairs had white satin covers with eggplant satin ties. The centerpieces were silver iron candelabras with additional candles on the table. At each place setting was a silver bell favor, which the guests rang as Austin and Amanda made their entrance and their exit.

After four toasts, we moved onto the cake cutting. Amanda’s white cake had three stacked tiers, with tiny eggplant-colored fondant flowers cascading down the front, with a silver double heart topper. Austin’s chocolate cake had two stacked tiers, with chocolate ganache dripping down each tier, and chopped up Reese’s cups on the top and around the bottom. It smelled so good!!!

A little bit softer now....  You make me wanna SHOUT!

We started the dancing with The Grand March, which is a tradition with many Czech, Country, and German weddings. The guests make two lines, one of ladies, one of men, and two people lead them around the room. The lines intersect, run along side each other, make a ‘tunnel’, and do all kinds of fun things. It ends up in a circle, with the Bride and Groom in the middle. That’s when they do their First Dance. Then, party time!

This group loved everything from Oldies to Country to Hip Hop to everything else. They were a great bunch and really enjoyed having fun together. But finally, the night came to an end and the Newlyweds made their exit to a limo, with bells ringing. Congratulations Austin and Amanda!!

Congratulations Matt and Lindsey

What a beautiful and fun wedding day! It started with a gorgeous Ceremony outside on the lawn, in front of the gazebo. Then, the guests moved inside the Grand Ballroom for the Reception. The colors for the day were teal/peacock blue and gray, and the ballroom was gorgeous. The tables had floor length grey linens and were surrounded by chairs with white satin covers and grey sashes. The tall centerpieces alternated between vases of blue hydrangea and birds of paradise, or crystal trees with blue hydrangea around the bottom.  We had 10 teal/peacock blue uplights lining the walls, and they tied in all the décor and made the room glow with the day’s color.

After dinner, we moved onto the cake cutting. Lindsey’s cake was a perfect match, with its three white, square, stacked tiers, each with peacock blue accents. Matt’s chocolate cake had the Porsche emblem. Is that a hint? LOL After that there was dancing until the end.

When it comes to dancing, this crowd was FUN! We saw some of them at a wedding back in June, so we already knew we’d have a great time, and they didn’t disappoint! There was non-stop craziness on the dance floor, and at one point 20+ members of one family did a special Gangnam Style dance for Lindsey and Matt. You can tell they rehearsed, because it was awesome. At the end, two guys danced out wearing horse head masks, and that just pushed it over the top! We’ve seen those two masks before as well; it was so funny seeing it again. The whole group was a blast. To add to the fun of the wedding, there was a photo booth as well as a candy buffet to keep guests entertained.

When the night came to and end. Lindsey and Matt ran through bubbles, got into a silver Bentley, and headed off to their new life. Congratulations Matt and Lindsey!

Beautiful Ceremony

First Dance and Uplights

What a pretty afternoon Ceremony and Reception! The colors were ivory and guava (a deep coral color), and they looked beautiful in the room. The Ceremony area was accented by 4 towering floral arrangements in shades of ivory and guava, with the flowers matching the bouquets and boutonnieres. To tie all the colors together, we had guava uplights accenting the columns around the dance floor during the Reception.

After a beautiful Ceremony, dinner, and special dances, we moved on to the cake cutting. Katie’s four-tiered white cake featured assorted elegant accents on each tier, with a pale ivory/coral fondant ribbon wrapped around one tier and cascading down the front. The ‘ribbon’ had a gorgeous vintage brooch on it. Travis’ chocolate cake was in the shape of a poker table and included cards and chips. Cool! A 10 minute slide show followed and then it was dance time! At the end of the Reception, Travis and Katie ran through a shower of bubbles and headed off to their new life together. Congratulations Katie and Travis!

Portal Cake!

Bubble Exit

What a pretty afternoon Wedding Reception! The colors were hunter green with ivory and fall accents. The centerpieces featured a variety of orange and fall colors and included flowers, pumpkins and pinecones. They looked great on the ivory table cloths and pulled in the theme nicely. Even their favors matched, as they were glass coasters with leaf imprints. To pull in the couples’ love of gaming, they named each table after different aspects of games, including Portal. For their love of sci-fi, they made their entrance to “Throne Room (End Titles)” from Star Wars.

The “cake” was a big hit! The top tier was the cube in the game Portal, and the toppers were little Portal figurines, Melissa’s with a veil and James’ with a bowtie and boutonniere. The rest of the “cake” was a variety of cupcakes frosted in white, with fall accents on them including acorns and leaves. We played the song “Still Alive” from Portal while they cut the cake. Perfect!

After the special dances, toasts, and the dollar dance, the afternoon came to a close. The Newlyweds ran through bubbles while we played “Star Trek the Next Generation Theme”, and headed off to their new life. Congratulations James and Melissa!

Limo Scavenger Hunt Fun

We had fun Friday night with members of Bay Oaks Country Club at their Limo Scavenger Hunt After Party.  They had teams going out with lists of things to photograph, and then they came back to find out who was the winner.  Keep in mind that they were welcome to bring their own alcohol in the limos, and we hear there were full coolers and jello shots.  Needless to say, they all arrived back at the club in very good spirits!  The winning team (congratulations Pink Ladies!) received the Silver Hubcap Trophy, which will go into the display case along with their team photo.  We’re looking forward to seeing you next year!

Amber Uplights
What a pretty Wedding Reception! The colors were ivory, champagne and teal. The tables had champagne floor-length cloths and the chairs had ivory covers with champagne ties. The high/low centerpieces had hydrangea and curly willow in tall vases or shorter vases with orchids, hydrangea, and teal candles. The favors at each place setting were custom printed votive holders tied in white boxes with teal ribbons. We had 8 amber uplights highlighting the room giving it an elegant glow.

Kristy’s elegant white cake had four round, stacked tiers, with a rose on the second tier and petals extending outwards from it to cover the whole front of the cake. TJ’s chocolate cake had the Texas A&M logo on the top and was surrounded by chocolate covered strawberries.

If there is one word to sum up this Reception, besides the word “pretty”, it is “FUN!” This group was a blast! They literally danced from the first song to the last. There was jumping, singing along, crazy dancing, and fun, fun, fun!!! At one point, there was a push up contest on the dance floor, and I think the Bridesmaid won. LOL Kristy told me her friends loved to dance, and she wasn’t kidding!

After a night of fun, the Newlyweds ran through of rose petals and headed off to their life as a married couple. Congratulations TJ and Kristy!

We sell custom cake toppers!

Looking for the perfect cake topper for your vintage chic, rustic, or country wedding?  Look no further!

These pine wood toppers are approximately 8" tall.  The bottom 3-4" stick in the cake and have a non-toxic coating. The whole topper is approximately 5 1/2" wide. The posts are 4" apart, so they fit in the smallest traditional 6" cake topper.

The toppers are weathered outdoors for a natural, rustic, or country appearance.  They are hand painted in white lettering for the most authentic look, but other colors can be used.  Please note that cracks, rust, and distressed wood are desired, but a topper can be made without rust or outdoor weathering, and with a less distressed look.  You can have different wording besides what is seen on the sample shown here. A lasso can be attached for no extra cost.

Only $34.00 each!

Congratulations Jason and Lindsay

What a gorgeous day for an outdoor Ceremony and Reception. The Ceremony was under a beautiful arbor with white draping and a white chandelier with pink and clear crystals. After a beautiful ceremony in which two dogs were the Flower Girl and Ring Bearer, we moved on to the Reception.

This whole wedding day was gorgeous. From the sunny day, to the venue, to the décor, to the flowers, to the details, it was all amazing. The colors were black, ivory, and pale pink, and they were perfect. The tables had white floor-length cloths surrounded by white garden chairs. The centerpieces were white low pots with pale pink ribbons filled with white hydrangea and pale pink roses. There was a drink station with old fashioned drinks and pink and white straws. To tie in the colors, we had pink uplights scattered around the property, shining up pillars and trees.

Lindsay’s white, three-tiered cake had pale pink roses between each tier, and had the cutest topper of little wood people. Jason’s cake was a life-sized, realistic looking armadillo with red velvet cake inside. The detail was incredible! There was also a cookie buffet for the guests to take home a pink bag filled with different flavored cookies.

There was a beautiful guest ‘book’ that I’ve never seen before: it a picture frame holding a mat that had tiny hearts mounted on it for each guest to sign. One heart was red, and had Jason and Lindsay’s initials in it. It will be something they can hang on their wall to remember their wedding day.

After a wonderful Reception of fun, food, and dancing, the Newlyweds said farewell to their guests and ran through sparklers. Congratulations Lindsay and Jason, and enjoy your honeymoon in Thailand!

Congratulations on your Bat Mitzvah Angela

This event was different for us, as it was our first Bat Mitzvah. It didn’t have all the traditional elements, but it was still a fun way to celebrate such a milestone in Angela’s life, and a great way for us to learn something new. The colors for the evening were fuchsia and lime, and the room décor was amazing!

The tables had black satin full-length cloths with black and white zebra print toppers. The center pieces were at least 3-4 feet tall, and rotated. How cool! Each had a custom made design on top, representing one of Angela’s interests. They included Facebook, sports, Twitter, iPhone, shopping, and many more. The bases were covered in fuchsia or lime fabric, to match the colors. Even the cake matched, as they were Angela’s initials in fuchsia and lime stripes. We had fuchsia and lime uplights tying it all together. The room was just awesome!

Now for all the other fun details. As the guests entered the ballroom and picked up their fuchsia escort cards, they were greeted by Angela’s life-sized photo cardboard cut-out. For Angela’s project, she made spiral bound Jewish Holiday Cookbooks. She collected recipes from family and friends, typed them up, and created the books. She asked guests who wanted a cookbook to donate to the charity listed inside. What a great idea! For fun off the dance floor, there was a traditional photo booth and a flipbook photo booth. Everyone loves to see themselves in a flipbook! After the Candle Lighting, everyone danced to some traditional songs, including the Hora. There were 4 giant balloons filled with confetti and smaller balloons hanging from the ceiling, so when Angela was lifted up in the chair, she popped the balloons and the contents showered everyone. It was fun!! The dancing, singing along, and fun continued until the celebration came to an end. Congratulations Angela and we hope you had a fabulous time!!

Happy Birthday Adriel

Blue and purple Uplights and Dance Floor Lighting
This birthday party for Adriel was planned as a surprise, and it really was!  He walked into the dark room, the lights came on, and his friends and family yelled “surprise!”   Can you imagine what he thought when he saw the DJ, dance floor, uplights, dance floor lights, cake, food, and decorations?  His parents did an awesome job of planning this and his friends were able to keep it a total secret.  They all had fun dancing and singing along for the evening, just having a great time.  They were a fun group!   Happy Birthday again Adriel!

Congratulations Thomas and Misty

Love the sunlight streaming through the windows!
What a beautiful, cool, fall day for a Wedding Reception! The colors were ivory, gray, and red, and it was all so elegant. The tables had floor-length ivory cloths with grey pin-tuck toppers, topped with centerpieces of ivory and red tulips in tall vases. The chairs had ivory satin covers with dark red ties. We had three red uplights on the stage to tie it all together.

After a delicious meal, we moved on to the toasts and cake cutting. Misty’s cake had three white, stacked tiers with white accents. Thomas’ cake was a German chocolate ‘cooler’ of Guinness Draught beer. One really cool touch at this Reception was the caricature artists. There were two guys doing them the whole time, and by the end of the night, I think every guest left with their own caricature. How fun! The Candy Buffet was enjoyed by everyone as well.

The Reception came to a close and Misty and Thomas ran through a shower of (biodegradable) confetti, got in their limo, and headed off to their new life together. Congratulations Thomas and Misty, and enjoy your honeymoon in Cabo!

Congratulations Mike and Chelsea

This was a fun Reception for a very fun couple! The colors for the day were navy and hints of orange. With the centerpieces of assorted orange, ivory, and coral flowers; and ivory table cloths and chair covers, the room was so pretty. Chelsea’s cake was a perfect match, with four ivory tiers accented with soft orange detailing and orange roses on top. Mike’s cake was awesome: a fully edible boat floating on the water. To tie in the water theme, there were two custom-made, 4 foot long wooden oars that the guests signed. The creator of the oars was going to then burn the guests’ names permanently into the wood. They were so cool!

This Reception was fun, marked by a lot of laughing and dancing and fun. I won’t mention one of the toasts, which was, well, um… wow! It did get quite the laugh, though! After non-stop dancing from the first song to the last, Mike and Chelsea made their exit through pretty orange rose petals. Congratulations to you both, and enjoy your Australian honeymoon!
