Congratulations Jacob and Amanda

It was a beautiful day for Amanda and Jacob’s wedding reception at the historic Garten Verein.  For a clean, pretty look, the tables had white floor-length tablecloths with centerpieces of candles atop greenery.  The wedding colors were teal with gold accents, so the bridal party wore floor-length teal gowns while the groomsmen were in tan tuxedos.  The delicious 3-tiered wedding cake was white with pink and cream flower accents and it had gold ribbon running around the bottom of each tier.  There was a Grand March which was so large that they had to take it outside before coming back into the ballroom’s dance floor.  What a fun crowd!  After a night of fun, the newlyweds had a private last dance before running through a tunnel of waving glowsticks.  Congratulations Jacob and Amanda!

Congratulations Reagan and Melissa

We had such fun with this couple! From the Millennium Falcon guest book to Reagan’s light saber bouquet handle to their entrance and exit through a tunnel of wedding party members holding lit-up light sabers, Melissa and Reagan made sure everything reflected their interests. To the Moon and Back was a phrase the couple shared, so they had a moon-shaped photo booth backdrop and cake topper.  The centerpieces held beautiful blue glass stars with candles inside and each table had a name of a planet.  Their sweetheart table, of course, was the Moon table.

Were Reagan and Melissa content with a traditional wedding cake?  Of course not!  The main wedding cake was actually cheesecake, and their second cake was a display of doughnuts.  Yum!!  To top that, there was a candy table for guests to enjoy. People tend to think smaller weddings mean no dancing, but that was not true with this group!  There was fun dancing all night long.  When the newlyweds made their exit, they headed off in a horse-drawn carriage.  Congratulations to Melissa and Reagan!

Congratulations Rob and Kelly

This fun-loving couple opted for a Mardi Gras theme for their wedding and I loved it!  From the wedding colors of purple and green to Mardi Gras themed Covid mask favors, they thought of it all.  Around the Mardi Gras themed centerpieces, there were gold and purple favor boxes filled with candy.  To tie in with the theme, Kelly’s three tiered wedding cake had a Mardi Gras mask as the topper.  Of course, the groom’s cake was a king
cake, and it was topped by a Mardi Gras mask and beads.  Our photo booth was a hit and the guests enjoyed our custom-made Mardi Gras themed signs.

One of the highlights of the evening was Kelly’s father’s toast.  It was a poem he wrote and it was so funny: everyone loved it!  Instead of a formal exit at the end of the night, this couple opted to stay, keep dancing and say goodbye to their guests.  Everyone had a great time and we wish our best to the newlyweds.  Congratulations Rob and Kelly!

Congratulations Kyle and Emma

This wedding reception, with the colors of blue, was beautiful!  The tables alternated between three different centerpieces, all with white and blue flowers or candles. The table runners and napkins were all in blue to match.  I loved Emma’s dress.  It was all white satin with no embellishments: it was elegant and gorgeous, with a beautiful bustle.  Her bridal party wore floor-length blue dresses and they all carried white and blue floral bouquets.

When it was dance time, the guests were on the dance floor from the first song to the last.  What a great crowd!  At one point, they had Kyle in a chair and lifted him up in the air.  To add to the party atmosphere, our photo booth always had people in it, taking fun photos.  For a unique touch, there was a phone guest book.  Guests picked up the older desk phone and talked into it, leaving a message for Emma and Kyle.  The phone recorded the messages and they will then be put on a record for the newlyweds to keep.  I’ve never seen that before and I loved it!

The guests enjoyed Emma’s four-tiered, delicious, white cake, accented with white and blue flowers.  Kyle’s Fantasy Football cake looked like a football field and it was a hit as well.  After a romantic, private last dance, this sweet pair headed off to their new life as a married couple.  Congratulations Kyle and Emma!

Congratulations Chris and Victoria

This couple’s reception took place in the beautiful Garten Verein.  The historic location was perfect for a couple who loves The Legend of Zelda, a fantasy video game.  The three-tiered, white, stacked cake matched the wedding colors of burgundy and pastels, as it had burgundy and pale pink flowers draping down the front.  Chris’ cake was pumpkin flavored and everyone loved that as well.  To tie in with her love for Zelda, Victoria wore a floral wreath on her head and her long hair trailed down her back in a loose braid.

To give the reception a warm glow, we had our amber uplights around the room.  We also provided a photo booth and Victoria loved it: I think she was in it from the time it opened to the time it closed!  After a fun night, the newlyweds stayed to say farewell to their guests before heading out.  Congratulations Victoria and Chris!

Congratulations Vince and Laura

This wedding reception took place at a perfect venue.  Not only did the floor-to-ceiling walls of windows offer great views, but the weather was gorgeous.  The wedding colors were burgundy and white and they were reflected in the guest tables.  The tables had white cloths topped with burgundy napkins and the centerpieces had burgundy candles.  The two-tiered white cake was accented with burgundy flowers.

This crowd was great!  They danced from the first song to the last, and Laura and Vince spent plenty of time dancing as well. This couple wanted a lot of 80’s music, and I loved that! (The guests all loved it too!) At some points, the dance floor overflowed onto the carpet!  When the night ended, the newlyweds changed their clothes and went down to the Boardwalk to spend more time with their family and friends.  Congratulations Vince and Laura!

Congratulations Adam and Krystal

This sweet couple chose the gorgeous, historic Garten Verein for their wedding ceremony and reception and it matched their wedding colors (navy, maroon, and blush pink) perfectly. Adam and his groomsmen wore navy tuxes while Krystal’s bridal party wore burgundy dresses. The tables had floor length ivory linens topped with gold chargers, maroon napkins, and gold napkin rings. The centerpieces alternated between towering floral arrangements and lower groups of multiple candles. It was all so pretty!

Krystal’s three-tiered, stacked, white cake had maroon and ivory flowers accenting the tiers. Adam’s chocolate cake looked like a Crown Royal barrel. I guess we know what Adam loves to drink! To tie in with their wedding colors, there were custom, maroon Koozies at the bar. After a night of fun and dancing, the reception came to a close before the couple headed off to their new life as newlyweds. Congratulations Adam and Krystal!

Congratulations David and Beth

This wedding celebration took place over a year after the couple had originally planned, due to COVID.  But did that stop guests from attending and having a great time?  Absolutely not!  The ceremony took place in an outdoor gazebo, while David’s brothers played violins for the music.  Once inside the beautifully decorated ballroom, guests found all kinds of treats, from the candy buffet to traditional Chinese edible favors.  When the guests signed in, they were offered masks to wear and when they left, they received large favor bags full of goodies for everyone.  There were even boxes of candy and toys for the younger guests.  This couple thought of everything!

One special event at the reception was the gender reveal.  On Beth and David’s original wedding date, which was a year and a half ago, they had a very small ceremony.  But at this delayed celebration, Beth was pregnant, and the guests got to find out if the baby was a boy or girl.  When the couple cut into the cake, they found a layer with blueberry filling.  Blue for boy!  As soon as we said, “It’s a boy,” I changed our amber uplights to blue.  Everyone was cheering!

It was a great night of dancing fun and lots of surprises.  Everyone loved it.  When the reception ended, the guests went outside to see the couple off.  Congratulations David and Beth!

Congratulations Nick and Lauren

This sweet couple planned their wedding for July 2020, but COVID made them change their plans.  They went ahead with an intimate wedding last year but had the reception this year.  It was a great way to have the celebration they wanted while keeping it safe for everyone.  And, keep reading for a surprise!

The colors for this wedding were blue and pink and there were beach accents.  It all came together beautifully.  When the guests arrived, they found seashells with their names and table numbers on them.   The tables had gorgeous floor length tablecloths that were a light silvery blue.  They were topped by tall vases with pink and white floral arrangements.  Each place setting had a clear glass charger with gold beads running around the edges.  Menu cards were tucked into the white folded napkins on the chargers and there was a blue box with sugared almonds at each place setting.  The table numbers were on beach looking tiles next to large pieces of coral. The tables were surrounded by clear Chiavari chairs, and we had amber uplights around the room to provide an elegant touch.

Lauren’s wedding cake was so pretty!  It had three, smooth, stacked white tiers, with a white swag draping down the front.  Pink and white flowers accented the tiers and made up the topper.  Nick’s groom’s cake was a hit!  The bottom tier was decorated for the Houston Astros.  The middle tier was for the UT Longhorns and the top tier looked like a soccer ball.  That cake was pretty cool!

We did something unique at this reception – a gender reveal!  After the toasts, Lauren and Nick got on the mic to thank their guests for coming.  But when Nick got to a certain point in his speech, we switched our uplights to pink and he announced that they were having a girl!  Everyone congratulated the couple on their upcoming little girl before we returned to the dancing.  This crowd had a lot of fun dancing.  From oldies to current – they had a great time!  For one last special treat, the guests were served a delicious late-night snack.

When the reception wrapped up, everyone joined in the last dance before Lauren and Nick headed off in a limousine.  What a great day to celebrate a wedding and an upcoming baby.  Congratulations Nick and Lauren on your marriage and baby girl!
