Congratulations Shawn and Veronique

This elegant, afternoon Ceremony and Reception had us working with a couple who was obviously so in love.  How sweet!  The Ceremony was held outside Ashton Villa under the gazebo and the indoor Reception followed.  The colors for the day were yellow, silver and gold, and they were reflected in the flowers and tables.  The bouquets were made up of beautiful yellow tulips, the national flower of Holland (Veronique’s home country).  The tables had ivory floor length linens with silver chargers.  The high/low centerpieces consisted of either tall gold candelabras surrounded by more candles or ivory vintage lanterns surrounded by candles.  Veronique’s three-tiered stacked cake was a nod to her heritage as well, as it was white with elegant blue designs on the front.  The topper was two white Dutch wooden shoes with blue designs.

When the evening came to a close, everyone shared in the Last Dance before the Newlyweds bid them farewell.  Congratulations Shawn and Veronique!

Congratulations Travis and Erin

This Reception, with the colors of tiffany blue, grey and white was so pretty!  The tables had floor-length white table cloths and were surrounded by white wooden garden chairs.  The centerpieces consisted of floral arrangements of white hydrangeas and baby’s breath.  Each place setting had a tiffany blue bag of M&Ms that matched the wedding colors.  Erin’s bouquet matched as well, as it was made up of tiffany blue hydrangeas and white roses.  The Bridal Party carried bouquets of white roses with the stems wrapped in tiffany blue satin.  To pull the whole look together, we had tiffany blue Uplights accenting the room.

Erin’s cake was very elegant, with its three stacked white tiers.  Each tier had different white on white designs and the silver topper had the couple’s last name and wedding date on it.  Travis’ groom’s cake matched his interests, as it was a round cake that looked like a basketball.

After a night of fun and lots of dancing, the evening came to a close when everyone shared in the Last Dance.  The Newlyweds then made their exit under a shower of bubbles, climbed into their vintage limousine and headed off to their new life as a married couple.  Congratulations Travis and Erin!

Congratulations Charlie and Helen

This wedding was held in a great location: The Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston.  Talk about having a unique wedding day!  The vintage planes  were moved out to the perimeter of the room and we had amber and white Uplights highlighting them.  All the festivities were held in the middle of the room amid the planes.  The Ceremony had an Uplit plane serving as the altar backdrop and it was so dramatic!

After a delicious dinner, we moved onto the toasts and cake cutting.  The carrot cake had three stacked white tiers, all covered in icing rosettes.  The First Dance followed before the dance floor was opened for all.  Later, after sharing their Last Dance together, the Newlyweds bid farewell to their guests before heading off to their new life as a married couple.  Congratulations Charlie and Helen!

Congratulations Jose and Kailyn

I had the pleasure of being the Day of Wedding Coordinator for this sweet couple, whom I met after working Kailyn's mothers' wedding just a few months prior.  The Ceremony was beautiful, with the bridesmaids in gold sequined floor-length gowns carrying bouquets of red and white flowers and the groomsmen in black tuxes with red rose boutonnieres.  The Reception followed with guests enjoying a seated meal at tables with black tablecloths and alternating high/low centerpieces.  The favors were so cute, they were heart-shaped cookies decorated like little groom's tuxes or bride's wedding gowns.  The guests danced the night away before blowing bubbles as the Newlyweds made their exit in a bright red sports car.  Congratulations Jose and Kailyn!

Congratulations Matthew and Christiana

This was such a gorgeous Reception!  The theme for the wedding was Winter Wonderland, and with the colors of navy, silver and white, it was all carried out absolutely beautifully.  To start with, there was pipe and drape with silver satin drapes along the walls of the room.  Blue Uplights highlighted the drapes and gave the whole room a blue wintery glow.  To top that off, two GOBOs with snowflake designs shined on the ceiling of the ballroom.

The tables had navy crinkle satin floor length linens and were surrounded by clear acrylic Chiavari chairs with white seat pads.  The centerpieces alternated between tall lit acrylic trees and lower clusters of vases.  The vases had a variety of accents in and on them:  some were wrapped in white lace, some were filled with artificial snow, some had silver and white Christmas balls in them and some had floating candles.  Each place setting had a white napkin with a favor sitting on top.  The favors consisted of white mugs with the couples’ initials on them and they were filled with hot chocolate mix.  There was also a hot chocolate bar opened up after dinner, and it featured hot chocolate with a variety of toppings.

Christiana’s cake matched the colors and theme as well.  It had five white tiers with navy fondant ribbons accenting the bottom of each.  Beautiful silver brooches accented the front of each ribbon.  The topper was a heart intertwined with a musical note, which was perfect for this music-loving couple.  Speaking of music, these Newlyweds recorded their First Dance song for us to play: Matthew played the guitar while Christiana sang.  They were good!  Matthew’s cake matched his love for football, as it was decorated to look like a football field with a football sticking out of the top.  He carried the football theme through the garter toss when he tossed the garter (embroidered with the words “good catch” on it) wrapped around a football.  Christiana’s bouquet matched the wedding and her cake, as it was made up of white and navy flowers with beautiful brooches accenting it.

This wedding Reception was not only gorgeous, but fun!  The guests danced to every song, from the first to the last.  It was an all-out party!  But finally the night came to a close.  The Newlyweds shared a private last dance before running through lines of guests waving ribbon wands with jingle bells on them.  Congratulations Matthew and Christiana!

Congratulations Stuart and Hayley

This cold winter’s day Ceremony and Reception brought us to a venue where we haven’t played in a long time, and it was nice seeing it again after renovations.  The Ceremony was held inside on the huge dance floor and after the room flip, the Reception followed.  The color for this wedding was navy, but there were accents of light pink and gold.  The tables had floor-length ivory crinkle satin cloths with navy napkins and were surrounded by chairs with ivory crinkle covers with navy ties.  There were three different styles of high/low centerpieces: tall vases with arrangements of pink and ivory flowers,  To tie everything together, there were blue Uplights accenting the room.  Hayley’s ivory four-tiered cake matched the colors of the day, as it had gold accents on it and pink flowers cascading down one side.  Stuart’s chocolate cake matched his interests, as it had a violin on the top.

One fun thing we did at this wedding was the Grand March.  If you don’t know what it is, it’s a Czech tradition where two lines of people march around the room intersecting and making tunnels and circles.  Eventually, it ends up with the Bride and Groom on the dance floor in the middle of a big circle.  They then do their first slow dance together.  This Grand March had almost everyone in the room involved and it lasted ten minutes!  We later did the Anniversary Dance, and the longest married couple had been married 51 years.  We asked them to give advice to the Newlyweds and the husband said, “Do whatever she says” (smart man - haha) and the wife said, “Don’t kill each other.”  They got quite a laugh!  The Bouquet and Garter came later and then everyone danced until the end.

When the night came to a close, Haley and Stuart enjoyed the Last Dance before running through a shower of bubbles and heading off to their new life as husband and wife.  Congratulations Stuart and Hayley!

Congratulations Austin and Barbara

This reception was so beautiful!  And, as much as it was beautiful, it was fun!  The color for this wedding was berry, with accents of champagne and gold.  The tables were gorgeous; as they had floor-length ivory linens with berry crinkle taffeta toppers.  The alternating high/low centerpieces were either tall vases of ivory hydrangea and berry roses, or low vases of the same flowers.  Each place setting had a gold charger with an ivory napkin with a gold napkin ring.  The tables were surrounded by gold chiavari chairs with ivory seats.  To tie it all together, we had amber Uplights accenting the stage and the room.  It was all very elegant.

Barbara’s chocolate cake matched the elegance of the room with its four stacked ivory tiers.  The tiers were accented with ivory fondant draping and pale pink flowers.  Austin’s cake was so cute: it had three stacked tiers decorated to look like a tree trunk and the couple’s initials were ‘carved’ into the middle tier.  There were edible fondant leaves accenting the tiers.

One thing I must mention is Barbara’s amazing wedding gown.  It had a huge ball gown skirt with a long train and the top had beautiful ¾ length lace sleeves.  She was so gorgeous!  After a night of fun and dancing, the evening came to a close when the Newlyweds bid farewell to their guests and headed off to their new life as a married couple.  Congratulations Austin and Barbara!
