Congratulations Peter and Katie

We had wonderful weather for this winery wedding.  After two weeks of overcast weather and rain, the sun came out and we had pretty blue skies for the Ceremony.  The color for this wedding was purple and it was reflected in the linens and flowers.  The tables had floor length white cloths and the chairs had white covers with purple satin ties.  The centerpieces consisted of purple flowers with purple petals scattered around them.  As a nod to the winery, there were wine corks scattered around the centerpieces as well.  Katie’s cake matched the colors too, as it had three stacked white tiers with purple flowers accenting each tier and making up the topper.  Peter’s cake was awesome: he’s a pilot and his cake was decorated to look like the critical care plane that he flies for work.  I loved the forks they had for their cake cutting.  One was engraved with the words “I do” and the other was engraved with the word “me too.”  Cute!

We saw something at this wedding we’ve never seen before and it was so cool - after the Ceremony, a plane flew overhead pulling a banner that said Congratulations Katie and Peter.  It was a surprise to the bride and groom and everyone ran out from under the pavilion to see it!  After a night of dancing and fun, the evening came to a close.  The newlyweds ran through sparklers, got into a limousine and headed off to their new life as a married couple.  Congratulations Peter and Katie!

Congratulations Chase and Kimberly

This reception with the colors of white and purple was so pretty!  The tables had floor length white cloths with purple embroidered toppers.  The chairs had white satin covers with purple embroidered ties.  The centerpieces alternated between vases of purple flowers or vases of white hydrangeas.  We had purple Uplights along the walls to tie it all together.   The cake was perfect for the wedding as well.  It had four stacked tiers with purple flowers accenting each tier and making up the topper.

After a fun night of dancing (this group danced from the first song to the last!), the night came to a close.  The Newlyweds ran through a shower of bubbles, jumped into a limo and headed off to their new life together.  Congratulations Chase and Kimberly!

Congratulations Ross and Bryn

What a pretty wedding Reception!  It was held in the Hearth Room at the Houstonian, which is a lesser known room, but so beautiful with a wall of windows and a fire in the gorgeous stone fireplace.  The color for this wedding was champagne, and it was carried out in the tablecloths and napkins.  The glittered table numbers brought silver into the mix and the whole effect was very elegant.

The cake cutting came after dinner and the bride’s cake and groom’s cake were as different as they could be.  Bryn’s elegant cake had three ivory stacked tiers, with rosettes on the top and bottom tier.  The middle tier had the couple’s monogram amid a dot pattern.  Ross’ cake had three stacked superhero tiers.  The bottom one was decorated to look like Captain America, the middle one was The Green Lantern and the top was Spiderman.  Atop the whole cake was a large bust of Batman.  It was awesome!

Dancing followed and since there was no Bouquet or Garter, the guests got to dance until the end of the evening.  The Newlyweds ran through a shower of bubbles and headed off to their Honeymoon night as a married couple.  Congratulations Ross and Bryn!

Congratulations Derek and Lindy

This wedding incorporated some of the couple’s loves, from the outdoors (camo vests and ties on the guys and an outdoor ceremony) to alcohol (bottles with baby’s breath for the centerpieces) to country music (western boots on the Bridal Party).  The colors for the day were red and champagne and were carried out in the dresses and linens.  The tables had ivory floor-length cloths with gold chargers and red napkins, and the head table had lace overlays

After the First Dance and dinner, we moved on to the toasts and cake cutting.  Lindy’s cake had four white stacked tiers, each with a red ribbon at the base.  Each tier had white scroll designs on it and the topper consisted of the couple’s last initial and their names.  Derek’s chocolate cake looked like a giant Jack Daniels bottle and everyone loved it!

One really cute thing they had at this wedding was a kissing booth.  They had it stocked with disposable cameras so guests could take photos inside the booth and Derek and Lindy could enjoy the photos later.  We’ve never seen a kissing booth at a wedding before!

Later after lots of dancing, the Bouquet and Garter and the Last Dance, the night came to a close.  The Newlyweds ran through their guests waving glow sticks before they left for their new life together.  Congratulations Derek and Lindy!

Happy Birthday Lorraine

What a great 50th birthday party!  Lorraine had 80 of her closest family members and friends join her for a fun evening with a delicious buffet, a gorgeous cake, a candy buffet, and an Elvis impersonator.  Elvis didn’t just lip-sync: he actually sang, and he sang well!  He did an almost hour-long set that impressed everyone.  The room was decorated beautifully with alternating black and white sparkle linens and centerpieces of candles.  After dinner, Elvis’ show, and singing of Happy Birthday, we moved onto the dance portion of the evening and guests danced the night away.  What a wonderful way to celebrate a milestone birthday.  Happy birthday Lorraine!
