Congratulations Joe and Jody

This day was definitely meant to be. After a week of torrential rains and flooded streets, Joe and Jody’s wedding was bathed in beautiful sunshine. The colors for this Wedding were sage green, light hydrangea blue, and silver. The feel of the day was pretty and summery. The tables had floor length white table cloths and the centerpieces were Mason jars with flowers. There were burlap runners on the cake and head tables, and they tied in with the vintage, summery feel of the Reception.

Jody’s gown and headpiece tied in perfectly with the theme. Her ivory strapless gown had a beautiful overlay of lace. Her cage veil headpiece was held in place with an ivory rosette. Joe and his guys looked great in their grey suits and sage green ties. The bouquets featured blue hydrangea and white roses and the handles were wrapped with burlap, tied with raffia.

So in love!

Jody’s three-tiered white cake had pretty hydrangeas as the topper and Joe’s cake had the UH mascot on top. Go Coogs!! The couple also had a great way of displaying their growing up photos: they were pinned to twine with tiny clothes pins, and the twine was wrapped around a burlap covered board.

For their exit, the Newlyweds ran though a shower of bubbles and drove off in a fully restored ’55 Chevy. How cool is that!! Congratulations Joe and Jody and we hope you’re enjoying your Jamaican Honeymoon!

Congratulations Brad and Emily

This was a gorgeous, elegant, and fun Reception. The colors were teal and coral/pink. The tables had ivory floor length cloths and the centerpieces of pink, ivory, and coral flowers were amazing! The Bridal Party wore teal blue floor-length gowns, and we had 10 blue uplights around the room to tie it all in together.

After the First Dance and dinner, we moved on to the toasts and cake cutting. Emily’s four tiered white cake was elegant and perfect for their day. Brad’s chocolate UT cake was loved by all the UT fans in the room. The Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances followed, and then, to get the dancing started, we had an Anniversary Dance. The longest married couple in the room had been married 64 years. Then, it was full on party time!

Every once in a while I’ll say the guests danced from the first song to the last, and I never say it if it isn’t true. This was another one of those dancing crowds.

Most of the time there were more people on the dance floor than there were in their seats. All ages loved to dance to every type of music. What a blast!

After a night of fun and dancing, the evening came to a close and the Newlyweds made their exit. Congratulations Brad and Emily!

Congratulations Nathan and Amanda

These are Red Uplights, my point and shoot camera
just doesn't show the color right.  Sorry!

This Reception was perfect for a beach loving, fun couple like Amanda and Nathan. They had their ceremony out on the beach, and then enjoyed an indoor Reception. The wedding colors for these two Aggies were maroon and white, and they really looked nice in the historic ballroom. The tables had maroon pin-tuck tablecloths and the centerpieces were vintage-looking lanterns with candles inside as well as around them. Shells were scattered around them as well. As a unique accent, there were cards on the table listing words of advice that had been given to Nathan and Amanda at their engagement party.

Amanda looked amazing in her gown. It was strapless and had a beaded bodice with a softly flowing skirt. The skirt had a lace overlay and had a drape in the back which made a small train. Nathan wore grey pants and a white shirt. Their attire was great for their beach side Ceremony and beach themed Reception. The Wedding cake was perfect for this couple as well; it was assorted cupcakes, with one layer on top for their anniversary. Guests always love when they get to choose their favorite flavor of cake!

After fun dancing from the first song to the last, Nathan and Amanda ran through a shower of bubbles and headed off to their new life. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations Michael and Laura

What a perfect Reception for people who like to have fun! There was no Country music at this one; just Top 40 and lots of great dancing music. The colors were black and white with fuchsia and damask accents. The tables and chairs had black covers and the centerpieces were white and fuchsia flowers or candles. The Bride’s cake had five white tiers with fuchsia roses on top. Add our fuchsia uplights to tie it all together, the room looked great!

Michael and Laura definitely kept the fun element going through their reception, from the poker themed Groom’s cake, to the Photo Booth in the corner. At one point, Michael and a friend came out on the dance floor in horse head masks. It was hilarious!!

After a great night of dancing, the night came to a close. Laura and Michael ran to their truck through a shower of bubbles and headed off. Congratulations Michael and Laura!

Congratulations Morgan and Britney

This Reception had a more casual, springtime, beach feel, and it was perfect for this fun loving Bride and Groom. The color of the day was chocolate, with pretty ivory and pastel accents in the flowers. The tables had chocolate brown linens topped with four different centerpieces. The centerpieces were either tall with floral arrangements, short with floral arrangements, or bowls with seashells and candles. All the centerpieces were surrounded by candles. To tie in with the colors of the day as well as the venue, we had amber uplights around the room. It was so pretty!

After the meal, the Toasts and Cake Cutting, we moved on to the Special Dances. To start off the dancing, there was a June Anniversaries Dance, in which all couples married in June were invited to the dance floor. Halfway through, we opened up dancing to all the married couples in the room. And then, it was dance time for all. Britney and Morgan loved Country music, so this Reception was geared more towards Classic Country, Texas Country, and a few Top 40 songs thrown in. It was perfect for the Newlyweds and their guests!

After a bit of dancing, we stopped for the Bouquet and Garter, and then it was back to the dancing until the end. Morgan and Britney ran through a shower of bubbles and headed off to their new life together. Congratulations Britney and Morgan and enjoy your Alaskan honeymoon!

Congratulations Brenton and Megan

This was an elegant and fun Reception in Galveston. The colors were ivory with shades of purple. The tables had ivory pin tuck linens with gold chargers, with assorted centerpieces with purple flowers. There was a vintage theme running through the Reception, with bird cages for some of the centerpieces and two cute little wood cut out birds as the Bride’s cake topper. For a fun accent, the bar also featured root beer in bottles. Brenton had a field hockey cake that was really cool, too.

Megan wore a beautiful ivory strapless gown that was not only perfect for her, but perfect for the wedding. She had a flower fascinator in her hair that topped of her look. With Brenton in his suit, and the Bridal Party in their plum colored dresses, they all looked great.

After a lot of fun dancing, which included people jumping up and down, something that looked like the worm mixed with a wheelbarrow, someone crab crawling across the dance floor, we did the Bouquet and Garter. This group was a lot of fun, singing and dancing along to everything. At one point, Megan changed into a cute short white dress with her brown cowboy boots. After a lot more fun the night came to a close and the Newlyweds made their exit. Congratulations Megan and Brenton and enjoy your honeymoon in Jamaica!

Congratulations David and Emily

You know how you always hear about a sweet young couple getting married? Well, here they are! David and Emily were so nice, just like their guests. This family friendly and fun Reception was perfect for them. The colors were peacock blue and charcoal grey and they were tied in with the chair ties and M&M favors. The flowers in the Bridal Party’s bouquets and centerpieces were yellow, and yellow uplights in the room tied it in all together. Emily’s cake featured white and chocolate cupcakes with a small cake topper. David’s chocolate cake was the Aggie Bonfire, and it was awesome!

This group loved to dance: they literally danced from the first song to the last. They liked every kind of music from oldies to current to interactives to some Lebanese music. It’s always fun to see different cultural dances with everyone having a great time. Watching everyone dance to Apache was hysterical! There were times when almost every single person in the room was on the dance floor. This group really was a blast!

One cool touch to this Reception was the way they brought out soft pretzels and popcorn near the end of the night. You know that was a big hit! Finally, the last dance came, and David and Emily headed off to their new life together. Congratulations!!

Congratulations James and Miranda

What a pretty summer afternoon Ceremony and Reception! You don’t see a lot of afternoon weddings, but this one showed why there should be more. It was beautiful! Shades of pink were the colors for the day and their accents were perfect for this historic ballroom. The Wedding Party matched perfectly as well, with soft pink dresses on the ladies and soft pink ties on the guys.

After the Ceremony, the sheers on the ballroom windows were opened, giving the guests a gorgeous view of palm trees and the beach. The tables had ivory linens with centerpieces of sand, seashells, and candles in low vases. Miranda’s cake was perfect as well: it had three ivory tiers with wave shaped accents, seashells, and “sand” at the bottom. Even the topper was made of shells. As a favor to the guests, there were decorated seashell-shaped cookies at each place setting. Miranda’s gown complimented the beachside theme as well: it was a fitted mermaid style with a soft train flowing behind it.

After a bit of cake smashing, the Bouquet and Garter, some fun dancing, and a great afternoon with wonderful family and friends, the Reception came to a close. Congratulations James and Miranda!

Congratulations Matt and Diana

This was a really fun and elegant Reception for a fun-loving couple. The linens were elegant: ivory and black pin-tuck. The chairs had black satin chair covers with ivory ties. The high/medium/low centerpieces consisted of three different styles, all with red roses and bling. Speaking of bling, Diana’s bouquet was beautiful! It was all ivory flowers, with bling accents. The stems were totally wrapped in bling. The cake matched as well, with four all white square tiers, each a bling band around the bottom. It had a few red roses cascading down the side, with the couple’s last initial on the top (covered in bling, of course). Diana’s white gown was beautiful, with amazing detail and a bling band around her waist.

The whole Reception was elegant, yet a lot of fun; the guests were ready to party before dinner even started! Our dance floor lighting helped add to the mood as the guests had fun to all kinds of great dance songs. Finally, the night came to a close and the Newlyweds got into their Escalade limo and headed off to their new life together. Congratulations Diana and Matt!!

Congratulations Robert and Leah

This was such a pretty, elegant Reception. The colors were black, ivory and gold. The tables had ivory cloths covered with sheer black embroidered toppers. The centerpieces had three tall gold candle holders with gold pillar candles inside, and they were surrounded by ivory rose petals. Leah’s ivory gown was gorgeous and perfect for her wedding! It was strapless and had amazing lace detailing with bling accents. It was part vintage, part modern, and very elegant.

After a nice, seated family-style meal, we moved on to the toast and cake cutting. The cake had three, ivory, round tiers, each with a different design and a gold band around the bottom. It was perfect for this elegant Reception. The parent’s dances followed, and it was dance time!

After a lot of fun dancing and the Bouquet and Garter, the night came to a close. Robert and Leah ran through a blizzard of confetti poppers and headed off to their new together. Congratulations Leah and Robert!

Congratulations Blair, Class of 2012

This party was in honor of Blair’s graduation from Friendswood High School. She is, well, was, on her high school drill team, and we performed at their annual Winter Ball back in January. We knew this pool party would be fun because we had so much fun with Blair and her friends a few months back. This party was awesome: dancing on the patio, dancing in the pool, 8 fully-clothed people being thrown in the pool, singing along, everyone having a blast the whole time! Thanks for choosing us to be a part of your milestone celebration.

Congratulations Blair and best wishes on your future endeavors!

Congratulations Logan and Monica

This was a pretty fuchsia and silver Wedding Reception. The tables had white sparkle overlays and the chairs had silver satin covers with fuchsia satin ties. We had seven fuchsia uplights throughout the room to pull it all together. The theme of the wedding was travel, so each table was named after a location where Monica and Logan had visited, and the centerpiece for each was unique to the location as well.

Monica wore the most gorgeous off white gown with a lace overlay. It had an elegant vintage feel to it. To top that, she had a great fascinator in her hair, with feathers and a net veil that went over her eyes. The Groom’s cake was awesome because it was a two foot high R2D2. How cool! They even ‘cut’ it with a light sabe

The dancing with this group was a lot of fun. They sang along, they danced, they jumped, they made up some dance to 500 Miles that had guys on one side of the dance floor and the ladies on the          other side, they threw their arms in the air, they waved them like they just don’t care (lol), they did the wave, they did a Conga line…... They just had a blast! They even danced through the Bouquet and Garter. What a fun, fun night!

Congratulations to Logan and Monica. I hope you had as much fun as we did!

Congratulations Greg and Michelle

What a perfect day for this summery Ceremony and Reception. The colors for the day were aqua blue, peach, and silver. It was so pretty! The tables had floor-length pin-tuck linens, with silver chargers and aqua satin napkins. The chairs had ivory satin covers with aqua ties. The centerpieces had tall vases with cream and peach flowers and tall curly willow. We had amber uplights around the room to give it an elegant, candle-lit glow.

Michelle was gorgeous in her strapless gown. It had rows and rows of soft ruffles on the bottom. She carried a pretty bouquet of ivory and peach flowers. Her Bridesmaids wore aqua knee-length gowns and carried peach bouquets. Greg wore the perfect soft grey summer tux. The aqua vest and white tie made it perfect. His guys wore the same tuxes with aqua colored ties.

All the little touches made this Reception so awesome, from the candy buffet, to the fun photo booth, to the mad-libs on the back of the Ceremony program, to the Mr. and Mrs. signs hanging on the back of Greg and Michelle’s chairs. Michelle hand made the elegant menu cards, which had cream card stock on a peach background, accented with bling. The cakes were also perfect for the wedding. Michelle’s cake had three, off-white stacked tiers with elegant embellishments and their initials on the top tier. Greg’s chocolate cake had the OU logo on top.

This crowd was so much fun! They danced from the first song to the last. And they sang, and jumped, and they had a blast. There were all kinds of dances, from the Robot to the Jump Rope, to everything else you can think of. It was hilarious and awesome!

After the Last Dance, Michelle and Greg exited through a shower of bubbles and headed off to their Costa Rican Honeymoon. Congratulations!

Congratulations Conrad and Laurie

What a gorgeous Reception! This one took place at an Italian Restaurant on The Strand, which has beautiful décor. The colors for the day were peacock blue, charcoal, and silver. They were so pretty for this sunny spring day. The tables had sheer sparkle turquoise cloths with satin edges. In the center of each were vases of bright flowers with floating candles. To finish off the look, we had blue uplights accenting the room.

Laurie wore a beautiful off-white gown with a sweetheart neckline and heavily beaded bodice. The full skirt had layers upon layers of ruffles. It was gorgeous! Laurie’s bouquet was a full bouquet of bright flowers accented with peacock feathers and turquoise hand-tied stems. Her Bridesmaids wore peacock colored gowns with charcoal sashes. Conrad was handsome in a traditional black cutaway tux with white shirt and tie.

Conrad and Laurie had a very dramatic entrance: they were dropped off at the door by a vintage Rolls Royce. As they entered, a bagpiper played behind them. Everyone loved it! The Newlyweds then went on to their First Dance, and a seated dinner followed. The toasts came next, starting with a traditional Irish toast given by Laurie and Conrad to their guests, and the guests answered in turn. There was also a special Irish coin toast. Then we moved on to the Cake Cutting. The cake consisted of assorted cupcakes on a stand, with a small top tier accented with their last initial. There were four different flavors of cakes to choose from, and guests loved it!

The dance floor was open until it was time for the Bouquet and Garter. Since there weren’t many single women or men, we opened up the Bouquet and Garter tosses for all women and men in the room. The lucky catcher was to receive years of continued happiness. Following that, the guests danced until the exit. Conrad and Laurie ran through a shower of bubbles while bells rang out, and they made a dramatic exit in the vintage car. Congratulations to you both!!

Congratulations Joey and Colleen

What a fun couple and what a great day! This wedding was in Galveston, with an outdoor Ceremony and indoor Reception. The colors for the day were white, fuchsia, and turquoise. They were perfect for this beach-side wedding. The tables had white tablecloths, with alternating fuchsia and turquoise runners. The centerpieces were so cute – tin pails filled with sand and bottles, and the bottles had mini glowing LED lights inside. Sticking out of each centerpiece was a little chalkboard sign with the table number written on it. Another great touch was the escort card set table. There were small sand boxes holding tiny tin pails filled with custom made M&Ms. Each pail had a little sign that indicated the table assignments. The whole theme was summery, bright, and fun, and it was just perfect.

Colleen wore an elegant, ruched, strapless gown, while her bridesmaids wore turquoise strapless gowns, with her Maid of Honor in fuchsia. Joey was handsome in his all white tuxedo. The flowers were an assortment of bright colors, all tied with turquoise satin ribbons.

After the cocktail hour and dinner, we moved onto the toast and cake cutting. Colleen’s cake had three, stacked, white tiers, each decorated with black scroll designs or polka dots. There was a turquoise band around the bottom of each and stargazer lilies making up the topper. Joey’s cake was a surprise from Colleen, and it featured a replica of his black motorcycle. The First Dance followed, and it was such fun! They started out with a slow song, and then it mixed into Sweet Caroline. Joey revealed a Boston Red Sox t-shirt under his tux, and I threw Red Sox jersey to Colleen, which she wore for the rest of the dance. The guests, many of them from Boston, loved it!

Once the dancing was underway, it was a crowded floor from the first song to the last. Colleen told me her group loved to dance and she was right. We had a blast! Country and Pop/Hip Hop were the guaranteed floor-fillers for this fun crowd. The Bouquet and Garter came later, and then it was more dancing until the end. At one point, the staff came out with sliders and mini milkshakes for guests. That was great! Finally, the last dance was over and Joey and Colleen made their exit and drove off in a limousine. Congratulations to you both and enjoy your Honeymoon in Panama!!

Congratulations Brent and Julianna

This Reception was so beautiful! Deep blue pin-tuck floor-length linens, Chivari chairs with blue seat pads and chair ties, gold chargers, blue napkins with bling napkin rings, alternating high/low centerpieces with an assortment of gorgeous pink flowers with the tall centerpieces featuring long clear jewels hanging down, candles around the base of each centerpiece, small gold boxes with cake balls at place setting, a dramatic blue card box embellished with fuchsia ribbons and bling, our amber uplights highlighting the room, and a elegant custom GOBO we projected on the dance floor. Wow!! Dramatic elegance was the word at this Reception.

Julianna, who has the most beautiful smile, was stunning in her white strapless gown. It had just the right amount of bling accenting the empire waistline and she was gorgeous. Her Bridal Party wore floor-length blue gowns. Julianna carried a full, all white bouquet while her Bridal Party carried pink bouquets. Brent was in a black tux with white vest and tie while his Groomsmen wore blue vests and ties.

Julianna’s white cake was gorgeous. It had five stacked tiers, each with alternating white accents. The topper consisted of fuchsia and pink roses, which cascaded down the front of the whole cake. Brent’s cake was incredible: it had two stacked chocolate tiers. The awesome part was the accents: an edible mini Target shopping cart made of fondant, and the Target bulls eye. It was so cool!

The bouquet toss was so funny! Two of the ladies grabbed it at the same time, there was a bit of a competition to hold on to it, and one of the ladies ended up on the floor. It was all in good fun and nobody got hurt, but that video should be on the internet somewhere. Hilarious!

After lots and lots of non-stop dancing, and this crowd loved to dance, the Reception came to a close. Brent and Julianna walked through a shower of pink rose petals and drove away in a vintage Rolls Royce. Congratulations!!

Congratulations Don and Melissa

This pretty spring day brought us to Galveston, and it was a great day for this beach-y wedding. The colors for the day were coral and turquoise, and they were the perfect accents for this fun-loving, surfing couple. The tables had white cloths with alternating coral and turquoise napkins. The napkins had coral and turquoise rings. The alternating high/low centerpieces were tall glass vases with submerged coral flowers and floating candles. There was also a small bouquet of coral roses on each table, in a vase wrapped in a turquoise ribbon. At each place setting was a champagne glass favor, customized in turquoise with Don and Melissa’s names, wedding date, two birds kissing. There were turquoise napkins at the bar with the same design. To pull the whole look together, there were white and coral lanterns hanging from the ceiling.

Melissa wore an elegant fitted gown and carried a beautiful bouquet made entirely of vintage brooches. Her Bridal Party wore floor-length coral dresses and carried coral rose bouquets. Don wore a black tux with s white shirt and multi-colored coral tie. His guys wore similar attire. Once the reception was underway, all the Groomsmen changed into turquoise Adidas.

The cake cutting was awesome because the cakes were awesome! Melissa’s cake had three, round, white stacked tiers. Each was accented with a turquoise scallop design with yellow dots. There were two turquoise kissing birds on top. Don’s cake was also a masterpiece. Combining his passions, it started with a big wave and sand at one end, and slowly turned into a huge mountain with snow and a ski lift. There were two custom made bobble heads of Melissa and Don on the cake, and they were dressed to surf.

We started the dancing with a Grand March. It ended with the Newlyweds in the middle, doing their First Dance. After that came the Father/Daughter Dance and the Mother/Son Dance. Now I know where Don gets his fun attitude! The Anniversary Dance followed, and then it was on to the party! This group was great, and really loved a reggae, hip hop, ska feel to the music. It was a blast! After a while we stopped for the bouquet and garter, and Don slid on the floor and danced his way over to Melissa to remove the garter. LOL Then, back to the party. There was even some break dancing thrown in for fun. Finally the night came to a close and the Newlyweds said farewell to their guests. Congratulations Don and Melissa and enjoy Thailand!

Congratulations Michael and Terry

This wedding was absolutely gorgeous! The colors were ivory, gold, champagne, and purple. The tables had ivory pin-tuck floor-length linens and were surrounded by mahogany chivari chairs with ivory pads. Each place setting had a gold charger, ivory napkin, and elegant menu card. The centerpieces were gorgeous as well. They were a combination of high and low, full of beautiful ivory flowers. There were candles around each centerpiece. To tie in the elegant colors, we had six amber uplights accenting the walls of the room.

Terry looked incredible in her ivory gown. It was fitted to the hips and fell to a small train. The gown had elegant beading and was perfect for her. She carried a beautiful hand tied bouquet of ivory flowers. Her Bridal Party wore purple full length gowns and carried bouquets of ivory flowers with lavender accents. Michael wore a black tux with white vest and tie, topped by a calla lily boutonniere and his men were in similar attire.

After the cocktail hour and dinner, we moved on to the cake cutting and toasts. Terry’s white cake was amazing! It had four round tiers that had incredible detail between each and included spun sugar flowers and intricate lace detailing. It must have stood at least three feet tall. As a surprise, Terry got a Groom’s cake for Michael. It was a two tier chocolate cake decorated for Las Vegas. It had the famous Vegas sign, playing cards, gold coins, and two cards on the top reminiscent of the way Michael proposed to Terry in Las Vegas. Everything was edible. Toasts followed and then it was on to the dance time.

In between enjoying the great food, music, and cake, the guests also had fun taking pictures in the photo booth. When the night came to a close, Michael and Terry ran through a shower of rose petals to a beautiful vintage white Rolls Royce. Congratulations Terry and Michael!

Congratulations Steve and Kim

This Wedding Ceremony and Reception took place at The Lyceum in Galveston, which is gorgeous. The colors for the wedding were black and white, with the flowers adding the pops of color. Kim wore a strapless white gown with a heavily beaded bodice and a long softly flowing skirt. Her veil and earrings were the perfect touch to tie it all in. She carried a bouquet of assorted flowers. Steve was handsome in his black tux with silver tie and vest. The tables had black floor length linens and the chairs had black covers with white ties. The centerpieces consisted of tall vases with assorted flowers surrounded by candles. We placed amber uplights around the room to give it an elegant glow.

After dinner, we moved on to the Toast and Cake Cutting. Kim’s mom gave a sweet toast while Steve and Kim drank from their engraved Mason jar style glasses. Those glasses are perfect for beer drinkers and made a cool alternative to traditional champagne flutes. Then, on to the cake cutting. Kim’s white cake had three tiers, with roses in between the top two. The topper had the couple’s last initial. Steve’s Groom’s cake was chocolate with chocolate frosting. Following that, we moved on to the First Dance. Then it was dance time!

One thing that really was fun was when Kim sang an Aretha Franklin song to the guests. I was told that she was a really good singer, but wow, I had no idea! She brought the house down!! After lots of fun, we moved on to the Bouquet and Garter. The guests danced more and the night came to a close. Steve and Kim ran through sparklers and headed off to their new life together. Congratulations Steve and Kim!!
