This Reception brought us to a venue where we’ve never played: the Lake Jackson Civic Center.  Some people think civic centers aren’t pretty, but this room had chandeliers on dimmers, carpet, and two glass walls, one looking out over a pretty landscaped area with columns and fountains.  It’s very nice!  The tables had white cloths with blue napkins, and the centerpieces alternated between tall vases of coral flowers or three low vases of submerged coral flowers with floating candles.  All were surrounded by votive candles.

After the Entrance and First Dance, we moved onto dinner.  That was followed by the Toasts and Cake Cutting.  Emily’s cake had three stacked ivory tiers with natural style frosting lines.  It was accented with coral flowers and topped with two white birds, with the words “Mr.” and “Mrs.” on them.  Daniel’s ‘cake’ consisted of mini pies, which everyone loved!  Following the Cake Cutting, the dance floor was open.

 

After a night of fun and the Last Dance, the Newlyweds made their exit under a shower of birdseed and drove off to their new life together.  Congratulations Daniel and Emily and enjoy your Hill Country Honeymoon!

Congratulations Justyn and Sarabeth

This Wedding Reception featured the colors of pink and white and it was so pretty!  The tables had floor length white cloths with white pin tuck overlays.  The chairs had white satin covers with soft pink ties.  The white napkins were folded and enclosed a pink card with words of thanks from Sarabeth and Justyn as well as the menu.  The high/low centerpieces featured white hydrangeas and pink roses.  The special tables had pink petal satin cloths and we had soft pink Uplights accenting the main wall.  The whole room had a romantic feel and was gorgeous.

There were some unique details at this wedding.  Instead of a sign-in book, the couple had wood letters for the guests to sign that spelled out Mr.  & Mrs.  They had a cute pink sign the ring bearer carried for the ceremony, which said, “Justyn, here comes your girl” on one side and “and they lived Happily Ever After” on the other.  I also liked the toasting glasses, which said Bride and Groom on them and had the Texas A&M logo.

Sarabeth’s four-tiered white cake was beautiful and a perfect match for the wedding.  It had white dot designs on each tier with a few pink roses accenting each and a cascade of pink roses down the front.  The flavors even matched the wedding day: they alternated between vanilla and strawberry.  The topper was a pretty bling design of their last initial.  Justyn’s chocolate cake was loved by the many Aggies in the room: it had two tiers with the Texas A&M logo on the top tier.  They cut their cakes with Justyn’s Aggie corps saber.

When the dance floor opened, it was nonstop dancing fun from the first song to the last.  At one point we played a special song dedicated to Sarabeth’s grandparents, who were celebrating their 57^th Wedding Anniversary on the same date.  How sweet!  There were a lot of Aggies in the room, so when we played the Aggie War Hymn, the dance floor was filled.  There was even a drum major from the class of 1959 at the reception, and he could out dance half the guests!  We stopped for the Bouquet and Garter later, and then the dancing continued until the end.  The Newlyweds shared their Last Dance together and headed out through a shower of bubbles, climbed into their pink limousine (yes, pink!) and headed off to their new life as a married couple.  Congratulations Justyn and Sarabeth!

This pretty spring Reception featured the colors of coral, gold and white, which were perfect for the historic venue.  The tables had floor length ivory cloths and were surrounded by Chiavari chairs.  The centerpieces alternated between low arrangements of white hydrangeas and tall arrangements of white and coral flowers.  To give the dance floor area a nice glow of color, we had alternating Uplights in Coral and Turquoise, which were awesome for this beach front venue, as well as the Dance Floor Lighting.

After the introductions, the First Dance and a seated meal, we moved on to the toast and cake cutting.  Kathleen’s four-tier stacked white cake was accented with gold designs and had a few seashell accents on each tier and a topper of two starfish.  Our Cake Table Spots did a nice job of showing off the details on the cake as well as the topper.  Jamie’s chocolate stacked cake had the New York Yankees logo on the top.  Kathleen danced with her father, Jamie danced with his mother, and then the dance floor was open to all.  This crowd was fun!  They packed the dance floor from the very first song to the very last and even overflowed on to the carpet.  It was non-stop dancing all night long and we had so much fun just watching!  For a fun touch, each guest had a small bottle of Habanero sauce at their place setting with a card saying, “We said ‘I do’, now let’s get sauced!”  There was also a Polaroid camera for the guests to take mini Polaroid pictures, and they hung them on a tall wooden sandwich-style board with mini clothespins.  That was cute!

After the Bouquet and Garter, we went right back to the dancing until the end.  After the Last Dance, the Newlyweds ran through their guests and bid them farewell before they took off for their Honeymoon.  Congratulations Jamie and Kathleen!

This Reception took place at one of the most beautiful church halls we’ve seen: Helena Hall at St. Helen’s Church in Alvin.  It was the original church, so there are high vaulted ceilings with floor-to-ceiling stained glass windows. It’s gorgeous!  There was ivory pipe and drape across the front of the room onto which we projected a GOBO monogram of the couple’s names, last initial and wedding date.  It was the perfect backdrop for the room, the First Dance, the cakes and the toast.  The room was equally pretty, decorated in ivory to match the day.  The tables had floor-length ivory table cloths with embroidered overlays.  The centerpieces alternated between shorter vases of ivory and pink flowers and tall candelabras.  Each place setting had a gold charger and ivory napkin with gold napkin ring.  For the final touch, each chair had an ivory satin cover with a taupe tie.

After the entrance, First Dance and dinner, we had the Toasts and Cake Cutting.   Jennifer’s Italian Cream cake had four stacked off-white tiers, each with a darker ivory lace look detail.  At the bottom of each tier was a bling band of rhinestones.  Pink roses made up the topper and the cake sat on a gold cake stand.  Thomas’ chocolate cake was amazing.  It had two stacked chocolate tiers decorated to look like a fishing scene.  The Father/Daughter Dance and Mother/Son Dance came next, and then it was party time!  This group was hilarious on the dance floor.  They danced to everything and did such moves as the snake, the invisible jump rope, and everything else you can imagine.  It was such fun watching them all! 

 

After a lot of fun dancing, we stopped for the Bouquet and Garter.  Then, it was back to the dancing until the end.  The Newlyweds made an exit through bubbles and headed off in a limousine to their new life together.  Congratulations Thomas and Jennifer!
