This
was the third wedding we’ve had with this family, as we had the pleasure of
providing DJ services for Jessica’s two sisters’ weddings as well. It’s always great when we get to work with a
family again, especially when it’s a fun and talented family like this one! The color for this rustic wedding was coral,
and the theme and color were carried out beautifully. There were so many coordinating touches I
don’t know if I can name them all, and they were all made by Jessica’s mom! The Bridal Party wore coral lace floor-length
dresses and the Groomsmen were in tan suits and vests with coral ties. There were ten kids in the wedding and the
boys looked so cute in their tan suspenders and coral bow ties. The littlest Flower Girl was a baby, so she
was pulled down the aisle in a decorated vintage wood wagon with a sign saying
“Here comes the Bride” on the back. The
Ceremony gazebo and aisle were both decorated with coral flowers. For a really awesome touch, at the Ceremony
area there was an eight foot tall chalkboard that listed all the members of the
Wedding Party. There were two vintage
wooden doors that Jessica and her father walked through before they came down
the aisle. For the comfort of their
guests, there were cold bottles of water and custom fans available. There was also a basket of vintage
handkerchiefs for the guests with a sign saying “For happy tears.”
The
Reception was a perfect match for the day with all the accents as well. The tables had centerpieces of coral and
white flowers wrapped around small antlers (Clayton loves to hunt) surrounded
by coral and white candles. Each place
setting had a coral colored thank you note tucked into the napkin. For favors, Clayton and Jessica had a trail
mix bar in front of two vintage doors and a large wooden sign saying, “Two
trails become one.” The trail mix jars
were set on lace tablecloths and the bags were brown paper bags with doily
accents. The stage was decorated to
match also, as it had floral accents and two vintage doors as the backdrop near
the cake and sweetheart tables. For a
really unique reception touch, there were two coral colored ladders holding
framed photos of the Newlyweds and other decor that matched the wedding.
The
cakes were just right for this wedding as well.
Jessica’s white cake had four stacked tiers, each with different white
designs. Clayton’s cake looked exactly
like the Hat Creek Cattle Company and Livery Emporium sign from Lonesome Dove,
Clayton’s favorite TV show. We did
something at this Reception that we’ve never done before and it was a great idea:
we did a money dance but all the money collected went to a charity, the
Scleroderma Research Foundation. What a
wonderful way for a newlywed couple to think of others on their special day!
After
a fun night of dancing, and a Groomsman serenading the guests to Sweet
Caroline, the evening came to a close.
The Newlyweds ran through a shower of bubbles and confetti while other
guests waved ribbon wands, climbed into their car and headed off to their Costa
Rican honeymoon. Congratulations Clayton
and Jessica!
