Congratulations Lloyd and Kati

This pretty day brought us to Garten Verien, a beautiful historic old dance hall in Galveston.  After the Ceremony, which was held in the Pergola in the park next to Garten Verein, the guests came inside for the Reception.  The colors for today were blush, champagne and ivory and they were beautiful!  The tables had ivory floor-length cloths topped with lace overlays and were surrounded by chairs with ivory satin covers and taupe satin ties.  Each place setting had a silver charger and ivory napkin and the centerpieces alternated between tall silver candelabras or short vases with ivory flowers.  It was beautiful!  Kati’s gown was perfect as well, as it was ivory with an ivory lace overlay and matched the whole feel of the day.

After the entrance and First Dance, we moved onto dinner before the Toasts and Cake Cutting.  Kati’s cake had three white stacked tiers, each with a dot design and pearls around the bottom.  It was topped with fresh roses.  Lloyd’s cake was red velvet, which everyone loved.  Following the Cake Cutting, the dance floor was open.  After a bit of dancing, we stopped for the Bouquet and Garter, and then the dancing continued until the end.  At one point, two of the guests came out and danced in full head masks of a horse and a unicorn.  The funny thing is that this was the third time we’ve seen that at a wedding!

There were unique details for this wedding that I really liked.  There was a large printed poster with Kati and Lloyd’s names in the middle surrounded by hearts.  Each guest signed their name in a heart.  The favors consisted of small boxes in assorted shapes, each decorated differently with lace, ribbons, keys, stamped designs and other objects.  They contained small candy bars with custom wrappers.  There were also cards with stamped images for guests to write in advice as well as favorite memories of the Bride and Groom.  I also liked that the Best Man was a woman: Lloyd’s sister.  It’s obvious that they are close and it was so sweet!

When the night came to an end, the Newlyweds made their exit to the song Keyboard Cat (if you don’t know it, look it up on YouTube.  Hilarious!) and headed off to their new life together.  Congratulations Lloyd and Kati!

Congratulations Victor and Lauren

Such a beautiful wedding day for such a sweet couple!  We were worried about the rain for the outdoor ceremony, but we had clear blue skies and a gorgeous day.  The Ceremony was held at the Tremont Wedding Garden, which is across the street from the hotel and it’s beautiful!  Following the Ceremony, the guests entered the ballroom for the Reception.

The colors for this wedding were white, dark grey and silver, and they were stunning together!  The tables had floor length grey satin cloths with sheer embroidered overlays.  The chairs had white satin covers with sheer black ties.   The centerpieces consisted of two different floral designs, with white roses, hydrangeas and candles.  To give the room a beautiful glow, we had Amber Uplights along the walls and highlighting the pillars.  The whole room was classically elegant.

After the entrance, the First Dance and a delicious seated meal, we moved on to the toast and cake cutting.  The cake had three white stacked tiers, each with a black ribbon and ribbon of ‘bling’ around the bottom.  The cake had edible sugar spun flowers accenting each tier as well as the top.  After the cake cutting, we opened the dance floor to everyone.  This crowd liked all types of music, so it was easy to play something for everyone.

Without a bouquet or garter, the dancing continued until the very end.  After the Last Dance, Lauren and Victor bid farewell to their guests and walked down the street to their honeymoon night.  Congratulations Victor and Lauren!

Fun at the Keels & Wheels Dinner Dance

By now everyone has heard of the annual Keels & Wheels Concours d' Elegance, a classic car and vintage wooden boat show.  The event is held at Lakewood Yacht Club and 10,000 – 15,000 people attend the full weekend of events each year.   You get to look at all the amazing cars and boats and help raise money for the Boys and Girls Harbor.  We were proud to be selected to provide the DJ entertainment for the Saturday night Oldies but Goodies dinner and dance.  They did a great job with the décor, having centerpieces of floral arrangements that looked like old fashioned sodas alternating with classic cars sitting on record albums.   We even had a large cut out of a pink vintage car in front of our table – that was cool!  After a delicious dinner, Keith Martin, the publisher of Sports Car Market Magazine, took over as Master of Ceremonies.  He welcomed car celebrities such as Wayne Carini, the host of Chasing Classic Cars, and others.  He even interviewed a 103 year old woman who spoke about her vintage car she bought in the 1930’s and still owns!  When the dance floor opened, the guests danced to oldies and 50’s music until the very end, and it was a lot of fun watching them dance.  Thanks Keels & Wheels, we had a great time!
